Hello All: It has been a while but with all of the insanity in the world right now I was thinking about adding a red dot sight to my Sig 365 pistol.

Out of curiosity, what type of dot sight do you use? What do you believe would be the best model for this compact firearm? Thank you for any replies.

A Sig Romeo X compact. No guessing about footprint and design for the P365.

Of course I’d shop around to get the best price.

Welcome back, it's been a minute! LOL

I installed the ROMEO RS (Circle Dot version) on my Legion and might be replacing the Holosun EPS Carry that I have on my P365 Radian build. I will eventually get the ROMEO X ENCLOSED Compacts for both. But I'm very impressed with the RS, have put over 1000 rounds through my Legion and have not lost zero. It's a robust little thing. 😂

The VORTEX CCW is a good one as well.

Best of luck!

I have a Holosun 507 (green) on my home made 365 X and the Romeo X (red) enclosed on my Macro Comp. I have the single dot version of the Romeo X and I like it a bit better than the 507 (which I run just using the dot). I like the green a little better than the red. Many like the Holosuns and many like the Romeo Xs.

I have the Romeo X on my Fuse, got a Trijicon RMRcc for my XL. Not impressed by the Trijicon, the 3.5 dot seems to fade even with a new battery. Might have to send it back to Trijicon. That being said, I’ve had zero issues with the various Romeo versions on my SIGs. Really dig the RDS, but still not 100% sold on the RDS on a defensive pistol. Maybe after a few more range days...

Romeo X Compact. If yo look hard, and have patience, you can find them for under $300.

I’ve got my eye on one now but can’t give it away afterwards I’ll post where I got it because it’s an open Romeo X compact but less the than $260 plus shipping. Picked up two last year from them as well for that price.

What will be the primary task the pistol is used for? If it’s primary task will be the range then follow any of the guidance given in the previous posts. If it’s primary task will be home self defense then follow any of the guidance given in the previous posts. If it’s primary task will be CCW then forget the optic and practice point shooting at 0-5 yards.

My only advice is not to spend a ton of money on a green/red dot. Between a friend and me, we have bought and used a ton of them, ranging from $50 cheapies to $400 ones and to be blunt about it, they have all worked fine, the main difference is how long the batteries last. About the only cheap ones we haven't had at least one of are the ones made of plastic. I have Cyelee, CV Life, Holosun, Vortex, and several others, and they almost all cost less than $125. It's not rocket science, it's just a dot. If it holds the point of aim, it's fine. My friend has them on 5.56 AR's and 9mm PCC guns that he and his son are pretty rough with, and a couple of the optics look bad, with gouges and scratches on them, they still work. One hint, replace the batteries that come with the sights, they can be pretty old and we both had one that was leaking in the box before we even put them into the sight. I don't buy any more red dots, just green, I can see it a lot better.

That's a great deal on the RomeoX Compact. I have one 365 with a Holosun K series, the other with an XCompact optic. I like them both, but given the choice at that price point I'll take the XCompact in 6 MOA every day of the week. Deal above looks like it's only the 3 MOA - still a good deal, just not my preference.

+1 for standard Romeo X Compact. Put one on my P365. It has upper 1/3 co-witness of the standard irons plus no need to remove the optic or re-zero when changing the battery and it's a sturdy metal made in USA. I use the 3moa dot but it also gives you 2 other options, a 32moa circle around the dot or just the 32moa circle. Also "sleeps" when no motion is detected but "wakes" when motion is detected. That said, there are plenty of RMSc direct mounts footprint optics on the market so do your research wisely to find the one that's right for you. No plate direct mount for me. Good luck with your search!

personal choice of color , reticle size etc, brand loyalty .. Romeo x compact excellent ,,, some have been going with o light ( no green avail yet) , personally went with eps carry in green mrs.. I like to change the reticle to smallest dot when I train and carry worth larger circle and dot... I started wiht this so I put one on all my EDC so it is same on all of them ... I also utilize and optic Gard to add some flair and also protects the optic and adds layer of security from side tray backing out.. I paid 375 no tax and free shipping from guy I met on reddit

I just got back from my 15 day Arizona vacation, I had plans to have my ffl nefew install a red dot (O'sight S, more on that later) on my P365xl but Amtrak has seen to make it a cluster**** to even baggage check the case and enclosed pistols and a carbine.. Needless to say they did not go on the trip.
I was able to use my nefews and brother-in-laws guns so we had 3 good days shooting.
Now back to my red dot I will be installing it this week, I have Zero issues with O'lights or O'sight, the reason for that is Sig in general outsource manufacturing to other countries "2nd and possibly 3rd world ones at that, so IMHO that (China parts) argument "holds no water"
I will update this thread when it's installed and had its first range trip!

These JUST got released, well, to retail that is. $299 for enclosed optic for the 365? YES. I'll take one.

If you're LE (I'm not) there is a sight selling them for about 40% of retail.. below $299.

I have a number of Vortext sights and I like them a lot, most than my Holosuns... just with the graphics were a little more subdued.

Anyhow.. checkem out. There are more review videos appearing every hour.

Enjoying it as we speak… you too!

FYI:

The “Made in USA” label appears on certain Vortex items. For example, some “Defender Flip-Cap Lens Cover” models show up in a list of “Vortex made in USA” products.

The Defender-ST and Defender-CCW Micro Red Dots are listed on Vortex’s site, but their product specs/manuals do not clearly state that all internal components are made in the USA.

So my inital comment still applies… Don’t be naive. You’re hating on products made in China because the company is a Chinese company yet most American companies use Chinese parts. 🤣

Yes, because there's a big ethical difference in "where the money goes", between buying western companies' products and oem Ch****e products... I'm known here at ST for boycotting oem Ch****e companies who make shooting and outdoor related gear and other industries which haven't been fully hijacked by the Ch****e!
I know that you know the only point I made about Vortex was that they aren't a Ch****e company, so why did you deflect to that?! :ROFLMAO:
