I am from Upstate NY . Lived there 50 years. Beautiful area about one month every year unless you enjoy cloudy days , ran snow and mud. less than 80 sunny days a year.!Repressive liberal government, overtaxed and a majority of good jobs are gone. Left 20 years ago. Returned in June about 10 years ago and the highest temperature that week was 65. Don’t miss it and will never go back.
In 2009 I was transferred from South Florida to Rochester, NY.
I was a Digital Specialist Installing and Servicing X-Ray Equipment.
I had lived in South Florida all my life..It was the first time I saw Snow.
First Summer it hit 80 one day.
Next Summer there was a lot of 80+ days.
I lived walking distance to Lake Ontario.
In my job I went to Syracuse, Buffalo, Ithaca: Cornell University, Oswego, Watertown, Sonyea (Serviced the Nuclear Power Plant there) Corning,
My Company also has contracts with Federal Prisons Nationwide..
I Serviced Elmira Correctional, Groveland Correctional.
Near Groveland is Angelica, NY the home of the Famous "Cartwright's Maple Tree Inn"
Open from Feb. 12th to April 14th this year and that's it till 2020.
Every time I went to Groveland Correctional I made sure to go to Cartwright's Maple Tree Inn.
I would pick up extra bags of Buckwheat Pancake Mix and their Maple Syrup!
Amazing...there would be tour buses full of people stop to visit there and eat.

The Farms that were located on the roads in Upstate NY in front of Huge Cornfields, apple trees etc. small farmers Markets for each farm..
They sold the most amazing Corn on the Cob, Apples...Produce in general etc..
The produce here in South Florida is a joke compared to the taste and quality of Upstate NY!
One of my favorite places for Apples was Ontario Orchids in Oswego NY.
The Best Honey Crisp Apples that you will ever sink your teeth into.
They Sell Honey Crisp Apples here in South Florida and they are nothing compared to Upstate NY's
But they Charge for them as if they were the same quality..it's a joke!

Living in South Florida there are few Fresh Water Lakes to fish.
In Upstate NY there are Parks after Parks with beautiful Freshwater Lakes...The Finger Lakes!
I'd take my Fishing pole with me and fish my way home from Buffalo or Syracuse or Ithaca etc...
Hiking galore..

Of course compared to South Florida..It was amazing..Then I was brought back home to South Florida in 2012.
I do miss my few years in Rochester and Upstate NY.
I also spent 3 months in NY City..
Blocks away from Little Italy, Greenwich Village, China Town and a short Subway ride to Times Square!
I went to the Last NY Yankees vs Red Sox game in the old stadium on August 27th, 2008..
Met Alice Cooper at a Broadway Show..
But that's another Great Story.
A Great Gig doing X-Ray...
Thankfully I have Video & Pictures from almost every day of it!
