XL mag question

491 Views 5 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  HanSoulo
I just bought myself a 365xl and I like it. I was considering either this, the standard 365, a max9, or a shield plus. The max9 felt like a block and the Smith and 365 standard were just too small for my liking.

I immediately went to the range and shoot about 200 rounds and it's what I expected except for loading. One mag was normal but one mag was extremely difficult to load past 5 rounds. Since they were side by side I know it's not just my technique. What can I do about this? Why would one be significantly harder?

My 365X mags (same as XL mags) were both difficult to load to the max at first.Bought a Maglula mag loading tool which helped. You could leave the mags loaded which will help. And shooting more definitely helps!

Last round difficult? Normal. Last seven rounds? Not normal. Take it apart and clean it, which you should do anyway, lots of magazines are dirty inside. While it's apart, look for problems.

Yeah...mine were also very difficult to load. But after a while they seemed to limber up.

Definitely clean them both. Take them both apart and compare the springs to each other just to double check things as well
