Xcarry V1 vs Xcarry V2 barrel difference?

1184 Views 14 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  45fan
I know that you just can't throw a barrel from Xcarry V2 or M18 into the original Xcarry because of the pre tensioned barrel but what makes it different?

I had a threaded barrel laying around that I put in my original Xcarry and it function checked, but I didn't fire any ammo through it. It seemed to work...just not really understanding the difference I guess?

I just always wrote it off as not ever being able to get a replacement barrel for my original Xcarry.

So I have an original xcarry and the barrel from it will not fit into my v2 model, it’s almost like the chamber is to long. No matter what I do the barrel will not lock in. My understanding is that the original models had fitted barrels or something like that. I believe C&H has a service for this model to mod barrels for use in the v1. Also since the v1 is only drilled for a Gen 1 Romeo they offer a service will drill the slide to work with an rmr / holosun. I sent mine to C&H and had a sig threaded barrel modded and the slide drilled and turned it into a comp build. Works great.
PMM does the mod too ($50). Didn't know that if mine function checked if I was good to go? Or maybe it would work but accuracy would horrendous? Or maybe screw something up?
The Rollmarked gen 1 X-Carry, and the M-18 use the same pre tensioned barrel. This barrel usually works in standard carry length slides. It will not work the other way though.
Ive never seen or had issues with the M18s swapping barrels pretty sure they are just regular barrels.
Gen 1 X-Carry and M18 share same part number.
How do I tell if this threaded barrel I have will work? I have been able to put it in and function check, but that is as far as I have gone...haven't put any ammo through. Not sure if that would screw anything up?

For the barrel?
It may be the same barrel but isnt the xcarry fitted so that may have more to do with the slide than the barrel.

Same barrel because they both have the LCI in the slide.....
I keep getting more and more confused every time I try to figure this out.
The Gen 1 Rollmarked X-Carry slide, had a short production run. It came fitted with a pre tensioned barrel, which has a much has tighter lock up, over the standard Carry length slides. The visual differences of the barrel are small, but overall effect much more evident. The lock up on these, are night and day over the standard barrels, in my experience. When new, you could not rack the slide by hand, as it stopped about 3/10" short of lock up. It needed a few hundred rounds, to fully seat everything properly. This barrel shares the same part number, with the M18. These barrels can be swapped, in a standard 3.9" slide. That being said, you cannot use a standard 3.9" barrel, in the M18 or Gen 1 X-Carry, as they do not lock up into the slide. I only wish, there was a factory threaded barrel option for these.
If anyone still interested I have a m17 and xcarry v1 I can send some photos to better understand the differences.
where the barrel meet with the slide (top rear) xcarry v1 barrel are slimmer than new barrels AKA M17.
I'm considering a used XCarry, I would want to use an RMR on it.
I'm talking about meeting someone in a parking lot to inspect/buy the used gun.
How do I determine if it is V1 or V2?

If it says xcarry on the slide its V1.
