Rather than talk about the gun market, 10mm and Sig marketing stumble-to-market failings.. let's talk about the actual user experience for the XTEN. Supposing is fine and pining is probably acceptable too, as long as it's product focused. ;D but looking for user impressions, options and accessories.
Please comment about any first hand user experiences.

after market grips you'd likely purchase- if any
Shooting experience- w 1 mag of range .40- it was, at a baseline flat shooting, with a clean point of aim, similar to other P320 shooting experiences.. not much different than my 3.9" in .40/ 357. I'm guessing some rounds are going to be hotter ;D
Ordered from: Osage County Guns.. $849.00- my second order there. They have their CS zippers buttoned up tight, with smooth, automated sales process that 'lets you know' at order confirmation, fulfillment/ shipping, out for delivery and delivered.
OCG has a well-executed, comprehensive CS program implemented, from hello to havery, with well trained, responsive phone and email support.
Ammo- for EDC I went with Underwood 100%
each going a little bit faster, up to the blindingly fast, barrier blind copper phillips screwdriver tips, courtesy of Lehigh, via Underwood. I'll run the Speer as mag primary.. at this velocity/ gr, the (vlogger tested) expansion is uniform and ugly. the Hornady gel/ 4xjeans did well too, keeping together at even higher fps than the Speer but less impressive expansion on the 'flower petals'. the extreme defense videos were positive. YMMV but impressive specs and 100% 9mm shaming, none the less.
Trigger- decent, smooth after 1 full mag of .40 ;D which is not my go to round here or a plan but I'm still in need of range 10mm, with 200 getting here from Freedom and an active local search for reloaders. I think when gun reviewers say stuff like the trigger is "good, better than expected, lighter than etc.." I always set my expectations too high.. happened here again but the X TEN is clean and breaks similar to the Legion FCU I'm running in my other P320. I'd say it was the same to similar but nothing really to note, if I were doing a review.. it's a P320 trigger, similar to the 9mm X-series, about the same to maybe a few oz. lighter, as a stock Legion FCU.
I'm considering GG and Armory Craft triggers.. after breaking in, the gun is going to the Sig Armorer, then possibly to cerokote. I found a local guy for my AXG/ .357, was considering doing both, same time, minus the poly grip, which would look good in Stormtrooper white, like those distressed Star Wars themed guns with a stainless/ metallic thing going on both slides, and AXG/ Icarus frames. not bling but very 733t TAC/ LARP looking, as that is my goal ;D
Holsters- The XTEN is some microns larger than the P320 .45, as evidenced by trying to shove it into the highly structured Blackhawk OWB holster. It fit, clicked into place but was not usable until the detente screws were backed out. The same holster fit the .45 P320 fine, though tighter than the 9mm versions.. but no micrometer here.
The best holster I've found to comfortably carry a 5" gun is the PHLster Enigma/ PHLster PRO holster is an amazing EDC multi-hour flex type holster for being out in the woods or wilds of modern 'society', with a full 5" 'opposition management' solution.
For EDC where you don't have to lug a full size gun around all day, my Garrett P320 holster flexes up to 5" for efficient, if not slightly crowded AIWB and a solid side saddle solution. Garrett Holsters- leather lined kydex is the best kydex.. I'd never run one without it. Leather makes for a silent draw, smooth reholster and looks so damn nice, years later. 1-3 weeks normally for orders, better between holidays where they usually run SALES-
- If you're thinking Garrett, they may have a 4th of July SALE where you can save a few $. Get your order in early, the day the sale drops. I have a new light bearing P320 I'm planning right now, to match the one in the pics below
- Enigma/ PHLster- there's a growing number holster makers in the PHLster camp, making Enigma compatible holsters, including Henry Holsters, Dark Star Holsters.. HIGHly recommend
Sights- current sights are great, easy to pick up.. they have the U bottom instead of the squared and if you asked me before which I prefer, I'd have said the squared but strike/ reverse that.
For my hard working US dollar- that I won't bleed to China, when i can help it..
I'm going with the US made, Aimpoint ACRO P2, when they drop, $599, which will be a cheaper than Romeo2 "better" enclosed RD for less than the Chinese made R2- assuming the Holosun subsidiary is still making all Romeo optics. if they never drop, or someone get gobbled up by LEO/ Milsec, then RMR or nothing. ;D The stock sights are solid.
GRIPS- please o' please somebody/ anybody come out with a--
- Stainless steel grip- just do it, don't eff around w Alloy
- Alloy- how about something heavier like Legion Xcarry grip heavy
- Carry size would be more appreciated but full 4.7" fine too
- Icarus Precision gave a firm "we'll see" when petitioned to put out a non-poly XTen..
- Sig has to have something AXG planned or hopefully STXG planned. It's not really clear, from the past 2 bumble-eff product releases but I know for a fact that (SIG <3 $) so.. refer to the prior statement.
The current grip is decent and a step in the right direction from the original or X series grips.. but it's poly.
