X-Carry Pro versus AXG Pro Slide

1182 Views 8 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Superzuki
New member looking to purchase my first P320. I have been looking at the P320 AXG Pro but not sure if I like the slide cuts (or the price). Been thinking about picking up this X-Carry Pro (Sig Sauer P320 X-Carry PRO Suppressor Sights, 9mm, 4.7" BBL, 3x17rd) and wondering how different the slides are going to be given that they are the same length. Do the cuts really add a lot to the function, accuracy, or perceived recoil of the gun?

This would give me the option of putting the slide on an AXG grip module for range/HD and a shorter length slide/barrel on the X-Carry module for CC down the road.

Is this a good price? My main goal is to be able to transition to a platform with optics.

Thanks for the help.

Assuming your LE/Mil and eligible for that purchase, it’s not a bad price. Having suppressor heights sights would be a plus, saving you from future purchase when you get an optic installed. The pro-cut series are strictly aesthetics. Almost all the slides have to maintain the same weight all across to be able to function with the oem recoil spring assemblies. The pro-cut has its relief cuts externally visible, whereas the regular slide will have its relief cuts inside around the striker area. Either way, they will both be of similar weight. Advice for your future compact/carry slide purchase, it’s cost effective to purchase a whole new gun. Then you can part it out and sell each individually. Just watch out for that signess to keep it and build up your stockpile of p320 parts. Then you’ll convince yourself that those extra slides need their own fcu and grips. Good luck with your purchase!

Just remember. The AXG Pro has the AXG metal frame. It is a plus, along with removable/exchangeable grip panels.
It is one fine pistol.
I have an AXG Pro and a second full size slide with a Romeo 1 Pro and suppressor height sights. This way I can shoot easily with an optic or iron sights.
It shoots lights out with both slides. Recoil, at least to me, is the same with both slides.
It is 9mm. Not a big recoil firearm.
Thanks for the replies, that is exactly what I was looking for. Yes, I like the suppressor height sights that come on this one. One for the optic and two because I would like to run it suppressed sometime in the future. My preference is for the slide with no visible cuts so this seems to be the best option. For the price, I think I could add the AXG grip (found one for $300 locally) and still be in cheaper than the AXG pro at $1199. I guess I would still have to add a magwell and, if I understand correctly, swap out the baseplates.

Never shot a gun with mrds before and looking forward to making the transition. This looks like a much better route than trying to mill the slide on my current pistols. Think I will move forward with this one, shoot it for a bit, then see where I go from there. Thanks again!
Yes, it's a good price. There's a lot of talk about it, but you don't really NEED suppressor sights..
I bought the AXG Pro and I absolutely love it. The metal frame is great and the new Pro slides have holes for rmr and dpp.

Curious about your thoughts on this. Don't need them in terms of using them as a backup with an optic? What about use with a suppressor. Again, this is my first venture into RDS so I appreciate the insighte.

Good to know. Still on the fence as to which route to go. Leaning towards a cheaper cost of entry as this will be my first P320 then expanding / improving if I decide I really like the platform.
With a Romeo 1 Pro there's a groove in the sight that I can see the very top of the front sight.
As soon as you teach yourself to stop 'looking' for the front sight and trust the Red Dot, you don't need it any more.
