Agreed. The MK is a combat weapon so it should look like a combat weapon.

Agreed. The MK is a combat weapon so it should look like a combat weapon.I like the feel, the wood grips are a bit fuller and fits my hands better than the original. A black 1911 looks good with wood, I’m not sure why wood don’t look quite right on a black P226.

There is an exception to every rule 😁The 1911 has been a combat weapon for over a century.![]()
There are a few competitive shooters who prefer smooth grips over checkering. I think your right about the shape and how grips cover around the frame makes it look odd.Checkering, or other texturing, which is required to maintain a good grasp for control, hides most of the figure and graining, which most folks desire. Plus, unless well sealed, will absorb moisture, and distort.
One reason use on 1911s is so popular, is they are "slabs", while on Sig Classics, they have to curve around, and help cover the mainspring assembly, and be the backstrap.
Just my "take" on the subject!
Yes.Does it look better on a W German 226? View attachment 455027

Everyone has different tastes. Me, those particular grips don't look good on any SIGs. Those SIG medallions are just plain ugly. Hey, you asked.Does it look better on a W German 226? View attachment 455027
I think it'd look better with a darker checkered wood. Even on stainless guns the darker woodDoes it look better on a W German 226? View attachment 455027
