Will Sig finally ditch their proprietary "Sig rail" in favor of the M1913?

Maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part but I've got to wonder/hope that Sig might finally be ready to completely ditch their proprietary "Sig Rail" in favor of the M1913 spec accessory rail?

The reason I'm thinking that is, all of their most recent releases (P320 AXG, P322, P365 Macro, P226 X-Fives) all have M1913 rails so it definitely seems like that's the direction they are heading but what I really want to see is them retro that change their older models.

I for one would love a Legion/Elite style 226 frame with a M1913 rail! It's not like they don't already have the CNC code worked out for the 226's from the MK25 frames so come on Sig...

They should have done that years ago. They had the tooling for sure, all of the Combat variants of the Classic P series had a proper rail.
I'm one of those that like the SIG rail. It works for all my lights without the hard edges.

It would be very simple to shorten the US X frames to do this for the 226, and it wouldn't be a stretch to do it for the 220s and 229s. I would much prefer they go this route, too. I want a tacticool, beavertail, standard frame I can hang my Atlas bipod off of! The beavertail will make it more legit than on my MK25...
Would love to see it.
Be thankful that Sig at least went from the left side rail to the right side "sig rail".

Take a look at the P226 X Five rail.
I never noticed a rail on mine.
It may have to do, with paying a Patent Fee to the Patent Holder...

Already did /\ ;)

They are already using it on a number of their models so I can't imagine that being much if any concern?

All I know is... right wrong or indifferent, I want a legion/elite frame with a M1913 accessory rail and hope Sig makes that a reality soon.

They've already done it on the P226, P229 and P220 on the Combat models.
I'll bet SIG keeps their proprietary rail.
