Will a P225-A1 fit in a P239 holster?

Simple as the title question. I am looking at purchasing a P225-A1 and a big purchasing plus is if I can use my leather holster. They look similar. Any input or advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

I would think it would be close. The P239 has a more rounded trigger guard that extends farther forward. Since the A1 has a smaller trigger guard it just might work. I doubt a P239 would fit in an A1 holster, though.

Recycling this thread because I searched for this answer--
I know the 225 fits the 239 holster but since the 239 has a slightly larger trigger guard, does the 239 fit the 225 holster? Anyone have a 239 and a 225-specific formed Kydex holster that could check for me?

As I said above, I doubt it will work.

If you are talking the original P225, they fit fairly well in a P220/P226 holster for a pistol without a rail. A couple of my DeSantis such as the 019 for a P239 fit a P225 fairly well. and a 002 I have for a P239 I believe will work for a P225A1 as the same stock # that DeSantis recommends for the A1.

You will not know if it fits until you have tried it or someone here has the "exact" same holster and can try it for you.

I just tried the P239/9 in a P228/229 (WO rail) Safariland 6377-74 and while a little loose because this is a ALS (locking holster) it is very secure and I would not buy a new holster if my intention was to put this in a duty holster

My point is unless someone says they have the same holster/pistol and have tried it you are guessing even if some here are better at guessing they don't know for sure

Sorry if this only adds to the confusion but I have many Sigs that work fine in holsters they are not designed for and then others one would think they would fit and don't

The Safariland 6378-744 is for the P229R (rail) and works fine with a M11A-1 or P229SAS and even fits snugger with the P239/9 but will not accept a P228 or a P229 with a Legacy slide in 9MM (WUT??)They will not go in past 2/3 the way

Assume nothing, try it before you buy it

Here's my new P225A1, in a DeSantis #019 Mini Scabbard (019BAB3Z0), a DeSantis #002 Speed Scabbard (002BAE3Z0), and a Mitch Rosen Express Line President X for a P239 .40.

The DeSantis are for P239s, and have adjustable tension. The Mitch Rosen model isn't listed for the P225A1, but it fits fairly well. I wouldn't worry about carrying in it, but would refrain from calisthenics... as if I did them anyway!

I had two holsters for my 239 when I bought a 225A1; a DeSantis and a Galco. They both fit fine.

But I would have bought the 225 regardless. Great gun.
