What gun do you shoot the best?

4601 Views 96 Replies 83 Participants Last post by  Secondset
Good morning everyone! I have recently purchased some new guns that were on my bucket list........ however one or them for whatever reason i couldnt hit the broad side of a barn a foot away.....

My question to yall is what gun do you shoot the best???? and which firearm did you want so badly but either could not shoot or just wasn't a good fit for you.

I probably shoot my Ruger 3" gp100 the very best of my handguns.

The firearm I lusted after and then we never connected was a S&W 686 plus. It was the fancier model with the 3-5-7 grips and unfluted cylinder. Was stunning to look at but I wound up hating how the action felt. There was an odd hitch to the trigger pull that just messed with my ability to bond with it and I never ever shot it as well as I would have liked. Oh and those fancy grips were brutal under fire. As a collector gun you like to look at, it was beautiful but I never did warm up to shooting it and sold it off.

@boriqua I was wanting to get a GP-100! I have only one revolver and its a 627 Performance Center 8x. Im beginning to really like revolvers! Thanks for your input
Definitely my old Sig P 226...every time I take it out it shoots where it is supposed to...but I always wanted a Walther PP in 22LR made by Manurhin which for nostalgic reasons I just wanted to have (I learned to shoot with one with my father a long...long...time ago)...finally found one...but for some reason I need to hold it in a special angle for it to shoot straight

My no-rail .357/229’s. I outshoot any other gun I own and I’ve got a few.

1911 - no doubt about it
Probably my old stainless MkIV Series 80 Officers ACP. I just like 1911's, and for some strange reason the thing shoots better than other examples I have that cost a lot more.

Definitely my EDC P250C in 9mm. It's the one I train with and carry religiously. It's never far out of reach when I'm at home either.

You cant go wrong with a 1911! Im heading to the range now to shoot my Dan Wesson Discretion!
P229 Legion RXP SAO is surprisingly my "best shot" - because it's uncomfortable in my smallish hands. I wish it had a grip like below.

P320 XFull is a close 2nd. Almost as accurate but much more comfortable (with WC grip)

P365xl is my worse. Am ok with it but noticeably poorer accuracy for me.

No question, my Legions in P226 and P229 with any caliber but I’m a bit better with 357 and 9mm versus 40 for some reason but the difference is minimal.

P229 in 357sig is my best shooting pistol. A close 2nd is my RCS 1911.
The gun I wanted the most but didn't buy was a WC 1911.

The guns I shoot the best are longer barrel single-action revolvers, longer barrel double-action revolvers in single-action, and five or six inch barrel 1911s. A great single-action trigger pull with a longer sight radius makes me a much better shot.
