That Sig has Israeli connections should not be a surprise to anyone familiar with Sig. Their top management has IDF ties.
I wasn't aware of the Israeli ties, but that's very good news to me. The IDF and Israeli military special units are some deadly serious folks. That can only mean quality product innovation...IMO.

As a striker/polymer guy, no I’m not a 20-something, I just don’t see Sig being head and shoulders above the other major players in the market. Out of the box I would agree Sig triggers are at or very close to the top. For me, the 3 Sigs that I own are not close to the reliability (FTF, FTE) that I get with my M&P’s, HKs, Glocks, CZ, F&N. I’m most disappointed in my $1200 P320 X guns.
The engineering of the FCU serialized design is definitely a step forward and presents many options for those who like to play legos. For me…I’d prefer to have a safe full of complete guns that I can pick and choose instead of assembling what I’m looking for.

And……with remote un manned weaponry, they won’t have to worry about cold feet within the ranks, when the unsavory depopulation orders come down.
Boy, doesn’t that give you the warm and fuzzy’s
THIS is the elephant in the room that no one wants to talk about.

Sometimes we worry too much
Or perhaps not enough.

Yup. There is something about, distance from the fray, which has a negative effect on moral decision making. Just read up on LBJ. 😡

We have had this discussion on this forum, many times. The general consensus, at least before January 6, 2021, was that government employees would not follow illegal orders to kill citizens. The remote control killing machines, will not even have that much hesitation.

True. All you need is a handful willing to "follow orders." History can, and does, repeat itself.

It isn't news that Sig is moving away from the "classic" series. They have been doing that for close to 10 years now. I doubt they will ever drop them entirely but the classics haven't been their focus for a while now and I doubt we'll ever see anything all that new in the line again.

Like it or not, polymer framed/striker fired guns and MSR's what's selling. The more modular the better. Sig is spending the money to put themselves in a position to lead that market. I personally think they need to drop the foreign made components and stop only offering certain colors to specific groups but outside of that, I like the direction Sig is heading and IMO, its a smart business model. Resting on your laurels and clinging to the past is what leads to bankruptcy... just ask Colt.

I sort of get why the die hard fans of the classic series might be disappointed by all that but really, it's not like there isn't a ton of classics already out there if you are looking to buy more of them. If they do start getting harder to find, that just means the one you already have will go up in value. Stock up on some extra parts (or complete backup guns of your favorite models) and you will be just fine.

Agreed. While I'm a die-hard fan of Sig classic P-series, I also know that my preferences are not even close to representative of most of the market.

But really, none of this is about Sig classic pistols or the civilian market at all. It's about Sig positioning themselves to be an even more significant contractor in the future - something that Glock, HK, etc aren't even close to dreaming of. We figured out conventional small arms a long time ago, and everything these days are just upgrades to long-established designs, for the most part. While small, conventional arms will continue to have a place, the future tools of the military are going to look quite different.

Sig, like any major Stateside company, will eventually go woke. As the boardroom gets younger (woker), choices for older, more traditional customers will get scarcer. That Sig has made a major push, to gain traction within the establishment government procurement process, will even lead to some moves, that aren’t necessarily the best business model, but will satisfy the overlords.

Remember, any business‘s main purpose, is to make a profit. Satisfying customer desires, is only important as a means to retain the customer base. If you aren’t the customer base, you aren’t important. 🤷‍♂️
With that thinking then SIG will just make water pistols cause all the “young” people hate guns, right? I don’t think that SIG will become “woke” any time soon or ever actually.
There’s plenty of Conservative, non-woke young people to get these jobs & if/when the “wokeness” continues, we should all be dead & gone!

It doesn't have to be stateside. This is a phenomenon occurring across the West as left wing radicals take over all the major institutions. I'm American and I work for a large European multi-national defens/aerospace company and even they've gone fully woke and it all started around 5 years ago. I was hoping to avoid this working in defense but sadly that's not happening.

Boy, if that ain’t a sudden left turn???

The wokesters aren’t against guns, they are against citizens owning guns. Just like the wokesters aren’t against free speech, as long as it is their free speech.

As a Parent and GrandParent, my concerns extend beyond my immediate gratification. 🤷‍♂️

Apologies to the thread Police. I considered the above nonsense to be an open invitation. 😏
