WC Mag Release spring

A little story, I purchased a Sig P365 FCU from the custom shop when they first offered them. I figured I would just sling one together after I figured out what I had wanted. I have a Sig P365XL that I love, and I figured that the Standard would be to small for me but the X when it came out looked perfect. So I started the journey to build me and X. I found a complete upper on Ebay with RZ site for 320, I purchased it. I then purchased the WC modular grip in XL, yea. All things were delivered in a few days and I was excited to put it all together. Last part, the mag release and spring. I watched a couple video's on Youtuber and figured I had it, looked simple. Lay the spring, slide it in the hole, turn it over to put the retaining plastic peace in, and on the floor goes the spring to the dirty shop floor. For the life of me, I could not find the spring, then I drop the metal mag release, gone in the dark void which is my garage floor. Look for my magnet, cant find it. So I go online, I go to WC web site, just going to buy one, none to be had, I send them and email asking for price, explaining what I did, knowing I cannot be the only DS who has dropped a spring... hit send, then forget some details, send another message, hit send. Next day I get two responses. I called the first one. Talk to a nice guy. he squares me a way with a whole mag release assembly for 48 bucks delivered. Damn that is steep but hey, gun wont work unless it is fed rounds. So purchase it. I then look at the next message, nice lady says, give me your address and I will just drop one in the mail. I gave her my address, she dropped one in the mail. Whole assembly So I guess I got two for about 24 a piece. Oh and I got my magnet and found my dropped pieces. So I have a a couple of spares incase I do something stupid like dropping a really tiny spring again. Any way thanks for reading my story. I will be posting pictures soon. Love reading all your all's stories.

Put a pin head size drop of grease in the spring channel of the mag release, lay the spring in it and there ya go, stays put much better.

That's how it works. I was installing a G conversion kit in my Beretta 92 compact. Zing went one of the springs. Luckily they supplied two of everything in the kit. Couldn't find the spring anyplace. I gave up. And a couple days later I was cleaning my workbench and I had a small magnet on the bench with that spring attached to it. My bench is in the garage and I figured it could be anywhere. But landed right in front of me on a magnet.

I use an old magnetic truck door sign laid on my workbench when taking them apart. Must have had a 100 of them after I sold out lol
Anything I drop sticks to the mat and doesnt roll around, off the bench etc. Saves alot of crawling around on the floor.
