Waiting on 9mm SLX or SLH

955 Views 12 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  TacoJoe
Just picked up a century arms ap5-p which is a mp5k clone. Thing is sick. Very pleased with it. It came with both threaded barrel and 3 lug system. SO i am looking for a can for it.

The shop told me that sig was going to release SLX SLH in 9MM soon. Any truth to that? And does anyone have any experience with these and can recommend slx over slh or vice versa?

Or i guess has any other opinions on a better option?

Congrats on your new AP5P those are sweet looking guns. The SLX and SLH Suppressors are out in 7.62 if that’s what you want. I just bought a Zenith ZF5 which is an American made MP5 clone and I’m going with the Dead Air Wolfman Suppressor. Have you looked into the Sig ModX9. That would work well on your AP5P I think.

I just bought a Zenith ZF5 which is an American made MP5 clone and I’m going with the Dead Air Wolfman Suppressor. I think it’s more suitable for the 9mm and was designed for sub guns. Here is a link to a place that has the SLH/SLX.

thanks for the link but i dont see a 9mm one?

I was going to go with the dead air wolfman too but they guy at the shop said the slx slh is coming in 9mm and i should wait and get that.

curious if you are going with 3 lug mount or direct thread?

I am going with the Trilug mount. Hopefully I don’t lose any accuracy. If I do I will direct thread it. That would be so cool if Sig had an SLX/SLH 9mm can. I hope your LGS is correct. I haven’t heard that.

Yea he seemed pretty adamant about it. so i am going to call sig on tuesday and see

He was confident enough to turn my cash away. i was ready to buy the wolfman right then and there.

I love the idea of the 3 lug and how close it gets to the handguard but hear that direct thread is better. This will be my first suppressor so I really have no experience.

I have a couple of older Zenith Z5's when they were MKE, before MKE became Century. I have shot them both (a Z and an A2 length) with a Silencerco Hybrid 46 in 3 lug and direct thread, and with a Silencerco Osprey 45 direct thread. I find no accuracy change in any of the configurations and no discernable POI change out to 50 yds. But then I am mostly just going for rapid center mass hits on steel.... not exactly target guns.

The SL-series suppressors were specifically designed to deal with gas from rifle calibers…and Sig only recently launched the MODX-series for pistol calibers. As soon as they released MODX they discontinued SRD. I find it hard to believe they would spend the time on another suppressor to compete with their own product. 🤔

True but the modx was designed for pistols and with the popularity of the 9mm carbines there might be another niche to fill.
Dont get me wrong i totally see your point

Sounds like Sig already has that covered. 😉

From their website…

The MODX suppressors feature 21 points of impact adjustment and come with a fixed barrel spacer for carbine use.
Any updates on your ap5. Bout to order one today. Seems like a good deal, so I guess I'll find out. Thanks in advance.

Are you buying an AP5 or a suppressor today? Either way Congrats. I can tell you my Zenith ZF5 has been really good no problems at all. You should check them out. They are running a sale. 500 bucks off.
Sorry, that was a bit confusing....Ordering an AP5 today, but that is an outstanding deal on a ZF5.

Man you are gonna love it. So soft shooting and accurate as hell. What a nostalgic weapon to own. Congratulations keep us informed with pics and range updates. I can’t wait to hear your opinion.
