Of those who signed up for the recall, or upgrade, anyone get contacted by SIG yet?

Curious how long it will take them to begin emailing out return shipment authorizations.

Know they forecast 4-6 week turn around, but nothing on when they'll contact us.

Yea, they have to sit on their hands for a few weeks while the mail gets to them...oh wait, it was electronic....

They have to take a few weeks to sort out all the serial numbers against our addresses....oh wait, we supplied that....

Takes time to print labels....

...I'm out of reasons for the delay.

I registered mine for the upgrade at 9:07am on the 14th.. so I assume I was one of the early ones..

I haven't received anything as of yet.. This is ofcourse assuming they go by the first in first out concept.

There've been over 500,000 of these pistols made. Sig employs +/- 1200 people in NH. New trigger assemblies moving forward and retrofitting guns in consumers hands and LGS is no small task. I imagine most people who know of the upgrade will opt for it; some who aren't reachable/think the upgrade is a "guvmt conspiracy to track their guns" won't. I think it's fair to think they'll be replacing trigger assemblies on at least half the guns that are out there, which would be 250,000. Manufacturing, shipping and retrofitting this many guns takes time, and they're under the microscope on this gig, so they gotta get it right. And yes, those who need their firearm for work should get theirs done first.

Nothing new here, they've said from the very beginning that it could take "several" weeks. Per their FAQ page:

What is the turnaround time to receive my upgraded P320?
For the US Commercial market, once you contact Sig Sauer and register for the process, you will receive an email from us at a later date with a shipping label and instructions as to when you may return your P320. This may take several weeks, as we will need time to prepare for this program. Once your P320 is received at Sig Sauer, turnaround time will be approximately 4-6 weeks. This lengthy process is due to the high volume of pistols in the marketplace. Transit times may vary depending on your geographic location and receipt of your returned pistol.
When you consider the timeframes promised for other things they've brought to market, we should probably count ourselves fortunate that it's "only" until October.
Hopefully they didn't mean next October....

Yes I did. Email "having registered a P320". Invitation to send in with all the blurb.

Things like this take time. I got a recall on a 2014 mazda(just sold)It was for the pneumatic tubes that held the back hatch up. Got a letter in mail about this. Stated would be notified when parts available. Two months later I called Mazda dealer I bought car from. Then said parts still not available. You will be notified when then are. About 6 months after the first letter I received notice the parts were available. Got it fixed. This had nothing to do with selling this car.

The car was still usable while I waited. There was some "danger" the back hatch could come down without notice. I just knew to be careful.

If you look at some other recalls you will see there is a notice and then a lag before all are repair fixed whatever you want to call it. (recall, upgrade whatever)

I'm in no big hurry, I haven't registered yet and don't intend to for maybe 3/4 months.

I want to know how everything works out with the trigger etc., from the people that have had them fixed.

If you're concerned about safety and intend to use the 320, there's a simple thing to do
1. don't leave a round in the chamber, at any time, period

No response back yet from Sig about the repair on my P320s, but I'm now getting lots of spam emails about hats, shirts, other Sig products, etc.

1. The new Rattler is an SBR. I can't go there without a tax stamp. I'm not interested in any product with that kind of legal overhead. I did take a look at the ad and video, they are cool to watch. Good guy always wins. In other words, you can call it gun porn, gun eye candy, etc. But, it's not answering my request to get my P320s fixed.

2. I don't want another t shirt or hat that advertises guns on them. When I carry, I want to be discreet about it and carry concealed like I'm licensed for. I see no sense panicking some left wing idiot or "concerned parent" at the local convenience store. If I wear a gun themed t shirt or hat in public, I might as well open carry a full auto SBR with a neon sign blinking above my head saying "Idiot with a gun". I'm not interested in these apparel products. Again, it's not answering my request to get my P320s fixed.

I don't want see another email from Sig mentioning anything else but my request to get my P320 guns fixed, period. Take care of MY agenda as a product paid-for CUSTOMER first!

I was getting those emails already. It's just that you are now on their mailing list.

I know Sig has their hands full with this mess but, is it just me or has the company been awfully quiet since announcing the upgrade?

I've reached out to our regional LEO sales rep but no response. Calling the company only yields a reference to the website and emailing customer support gets me a recommendation to contact my regional LEO sales rep.

I know it's only been two weeks, but it would be nice to start reading about shipping labels being sent out or hearing something from Sig on the status of the upgrade program. Kinda feels as if Sig is content letting this thing be driven by rumors and speculation.

I think everyone needs to relax & be patient with Sig , after all , there are a lot of these out there needing upgrade . Also they are probably going out of their way to make sure the upgrades are enough to fix the issue .

I'm a new Sig owner ,but I've been into firearms all my life & have had a couple recalled , soon after purchasing them . The P320 thing went down not even a week after I bought it , my S&W M&P Shield was two weeks after I purchased it . it will be taken care of , just takes time with so many out there , not to mention the factory line adjustments .

I don't see it as a big deal about the drop tests , this Pistol met industry standards , as with ANY firearm . The people who originally made the first video went out of their way to find a fault in this Pistol , IMO & wonder if they used the same vigor in all the Pistols they test . I'm sure the shooting public is better off they did , but I still believe they had other motives in regards to this Pistol design , again just IMO .

I seriously doubt Sig would have had any of the legal or PR issues if they had lost the M17 contract. In my opinion, the Steyr lawsuit would not have been filed, and the "force a failure" videos wouldn't have been filmed if Sig had lost the biggest, juiciest, most splashy contract for a firearm since the 1980s. All of these current issues have the word "envy" written all over them. It's like Sig had won a huge lottery. All of the envious losers have now ganged up to make the winner pay, one way or the other.

It's unfortunate that the real losers in this game are us lowly commercial market retail customers, all 500,000 of us.

...and more envy...

So, dealers are getting their unsold guns fixed first? Whoa there, partner!

I'm ok with LEOs and other professionals who depend on their guns to bring them home to their families every night getting bumped to the head of the line for their P320s. I'm glad that Sig fixed the first production Army M17s before they were distributed to our troops. To me, it's the same as letting a 100% disabled veteran roll his wheel chair ahead of me in the line to the ballot box. It's honoring our police and soldier's risk and especially their sacrifice.

But, letting distributors get their unsold merchandise fixed ahead of us actual owners/users, letting them get ahead of the line from us ordinary customers? That's just plain raw. The distributors/dealers are just in it for the money, for the most part, anyway. What about us "civilian" veterans who didn't buy their guns from the LEO/pro program? My DD214 still has the phrase "member subject to recall" written on it. Since when does a dealer/distributor get more sway than us 500,000 product already PAYED FOR customers? I say bump all of the dealers/distributors to the back of the line, and let us real customers get a fair shake for once. Or, is Sig interested only interested in the "big fish" with big bucks getting service first?

Unfortunately Sig is protecting its bottom line , keep the profits going & making sure they don't have to upgrade any other newly purchased pistols .

Don't like it , but in a Business way ,I understand it , they are ramping up production with the new upgrades & all the Distributor stocks are upgraded ,so they can keep selling a popular Pistol with out all the negative press that they are not drop safe . Basically they are keeping their sales line open with the new upgraded P320's .

I can see the new advertising now . " Our New Upgraded P 320 Pistol " I wonder how they will mark them , as to how will one know its a new upgraded model ?

So, our professional/military folks aren't getting any response from Sig nowadays? Hmmm, sounds fishy to me. My personal opinion is that if this is all you have for a duty weapon and you put your life on the line for the rest of us, then yell, scream, kick, etc. to get your duty weapon fixed first. If it's one of several weapons that you are allowed to use, then it's obviously not as big an issue. But from what I've read about some police departments, you can qualify on only one duty weapon at a time. Again, if that's the case for you, jump to the head of the line and get your duty weapon fixed or replaced immediately. Let's not have weapon failures like we had in early Viet Nam with the M-16.

I used to have a rule that I didn't buy newly designed guns when they first come out.

I stopped buying guns for a while and recently got the bug again for some new guns so I went out looking about 2 months ago and purchased 5 new.

One was a Canik race gun TP9SFX, neat gun with one of the finest triggers I've seen from a Mfg. ( RECALLED )

Another was a Sig P320 which I love. ( RECALLED )

Another is a Ruger MarkIV which I love. ( RECALLED )

And 2 CZ's ( P10c and P07 ) that are perfect, no problems and they are great guns ( NOT RECALLED )

Now 3 of these guns are requiring upgrades, Ruger has already fixed my gun and has done a good job doing it quickly and for free and gave me a free magazine for my troubles. (Now that's a good company that handles it the right way)

Sig is in a slow process of getting all this done but I'll save my responses to how successful Sig is when they finally end up "getting her done".

Canik says that they will fix the gun but you have to pay for shipping, that simply SUCKS and the Canik company SUCKS for doing it. This is the last Canik and I may sell it no matter how good it is, cuz Canik it pisses me off.

I'm finished being the "research and development" for these gun companies on their new guns.

My bet is all the striker fired guns will start being tested by these smucks to see if they will fire when dropped and it may end up getting these gun Mfg's to do their own dropping before they bring them to market.

Since this is an opinion thread - here's mine.

It's 2017 - the interwebs are not new - how about an autoresponder email on the submission that says "thanks for registering SN 12345, we will be in contact when we are in contact"

Whoever thought it was a good idea to not acknowledge the submission in any way other than a screen... wow. I can only imagine how many additional calls they have had to field with people asking "did you get my submission".
