So, I won THIS GUNBROKER AUCTION today using the BIN feature. I had been texting with the seller, and as soon as I won, he starts telling me he thinks the package is worth WAY more than his own BIN price, and says he's gonna cancel the deal because he wants to try and get more money. My freaking JAW DROPPED. No shame in his game AT ALL. Cool as anything. Eff you, I'm not completing the deal, even though I got the max possible amount I was hoping for, I want MORE.

This GB Help article here says he CAN'T cancel the transaction...

But guess what? I go to check the transaction page... it says CANCELED.

This is why man..... this is why everybody HATES gunbroker. I submitted my complaint and my screenshots where he says he's just gonna refuse the whole deal because he's decided he wants more money, but I'm sure nothing will come of it, doubt I will ever hear back anything.

For those interested, his SN is MHSEARS1 / real name Mark Sears. Posting his contact info would be over the line, but man, I hope all you out there in SIGTALK land pay attention and stay clear of this guys, he has several other Sigs listed, and I'm sure GB will take zero action against this guy.

Now I'm afraid to try again for another copperhead on GB....

I've seen this at gun shows. I went to a local gun show and a vendor was asking $400 for a Bersa Thunder Plus, which you can buy for less than $350 new online. Even gun shows are beginning to suck. The prices that some vendors charge for ammo is insane!
I agree, not been to a gun show in the last 10 years. People don’t understand the new/ used concept. What they paid new is irrelevant to what it’s worth in a used condition.

Correction & update to my post # 39.

I logged into GunBroker today and planned to send message to their Support to ask why my history was missing. After a lot of searching, I found a link to Reports.
You'd think they would have placed a Reports link on the Dashboard, but no ...nothing there, not even explanation of how to get a report.

My sales & purchase history is still available (although I still don't see ANY buyer comments or my prior A+ rating ). Transaction history is available under Toolbox => Reports. Click on View and that leads to Generate Reports or Report Downloads. I tried it several times and received emails with a link. However, several times clicking the link lead to a long wait and eventual 'time out' error. (Is their computer just slow or name service poorly configured ?) Continued attempts finally resulted in viewing a PDF file that lists transactions by year. Reports can be viewed or downloaded only for Buys, or Sales, and a date range selected. Why not just list ALL transactions in ONE report ? Not very user friendly report. Also, why bury access to reports in a 'Toolbox' link ?. Reports are a fairly common & useful feature desired by an account user and SHOULD show on the Dashboard. (my opinion of sub par design)

To summarize and correct post # 39, I now have my Gun Broker sales and buy history (but still no rating or buyer comments. Nor is that rating & history presented to potential buyers, as it should be.)
The website redesign went from adequate to worse. https://www.GunBroker.com may be the most known online firearms sales platform, but for me they are not as useful as years ago.

I will search for online alternatives and if none are available, I'll sell and buy the old way, person to person.
Yep, the only way to go...

As long as uninitiated buyers are willing to be gouged, vendors will take advantage of it for as long as they can. Sad state of affairs all the way around.

been on GB for over 15 years. Cleaned out the gun safes and pocketed some reasonable cash. I only buy from big 5K+ positive reviews sellers, I understand you can't please everyone so an F review doesn't scare me away. What I don't get is some will charge 50 bucks for shipping when you know it is like 20 for USPS. I figure out what i want to spend and that is all I will bid. I will continue looking for that rare C&R Colt or the latest Sig. Got to know when to fold them (bid).

That’s no good!

that's partly why 2 of my LGS won't acdcept GB transfers unless it's a actualy gun shop
There should be some consequence for his actions... Keep contacting GB to see what they are. Sad thing is, if he has a reputation for this or other unfair practices, he can just set up another account and start over. It sucks, but not a ton of options for you.... Sorry.

Hey Man,

You are definitely in the right!!

I recommend digging in and being a complete pain in the ***. Publicize, as you are doing, and don't go away until you get satisfaction.

Good luck!

O
I knew that name sounded familiar. Just took me a while to make the connection. Mark Sears may have a new account at GB with only a few feedbacks, but this guy has been around for years. His reputation sucks.
I bought a used part from him several years ago. When I got it, it was obvious that some amateur had hacked on it and it was completely un-usable. This guy wouldn't even discuss a return or refund. I'll never buy anything from him again.

You are butthurt, understandable. But don't let him inside your head. Don't let his actions make you rumble. Modern real world is not an honorable place. Imagine what is going on in virtual world. I thought everyone aware of it. Ultimately it is his gun. So it is his choice. So unless you willing to move into legal battles with him and gunbrocker, don't waste your energy on it. It can't be fixed.
this is what's wrong with the world no one has dignity
