I had sent the P238 back to Sig to have it gone through. Just maintenance stuff. They replaced all the springs and other wearing parts as well as the grips and mainspring housing with some units I got from Hogue. I had them replace the crappy XS sights I had on it with some of their XRay3 square notch sights. Love how it turned out! The sights pop well!

Now I'm thinking maybe I should send mine in... 🤔

I have a couple that I'm going to call Sig today about to see if I can get in on the special they have running right now to recondition the pistol andreplacee all the springs and sights!
Its a good idea. I originally called them trying to track down some springs for the gun that I was going to give my gunsmith to install as he was installing some of the XRay3 sights. They said they were running a special to basically entirely disassemble/clean the weapon, replace springs, and install new factory night sights. With shipping there and back it only cost me around 170 dollars. The factory night sights were over 100 just by themselves shipped to my door.

They fixed something I screwed up too. I had installed the previous grip scales with too much locktite and I ended up stripping the allen heads out trying to remove them again. They got them out no problem and at no additional cost.

They test fired it with both ball and hollowpoint ammo as well.

I've been very impressed with Sig

The 238 is the only gun that tempts me to get a .380. Very sweet little gun, but I think I can resist. I have too many other frogs to boil right now.;)
.380 has made quite some progress in the past few years. The right ammo can be very effective - specifically the Hornady XTP bullet loaded by Precision One. Very potent. Penetration has been a problem for .380 but this particular round penetrates and expands very well shot out of a short barrel pistol like the P238. It’s all I carry when it’s in my pocket. Feeds flawlessly too. I don’t feel under powered when carrying this pistol. It does take more practice to shoot well though because of its small size.
