What do you folks think of it? +P variety for SD/HD vs regular 230gr.

Educate me!

I shoot 220gr Hornady Critical duty +P. I don't see the point in a 185gr 45ACP. 180gr 10mm makes much more sense.

What about the 200gr variety, like JMB intended?

I think it's more about how a specific load performs than just 185gr vs 220gr. in general. Some hollow points may benefit, in terms of expansion, from a little more velocity, but then again, some fail miserably and don't expand at all.

This chart shows some interesting results. Pay particular attention to the pics of expansion:

When I carry the 320 carry 45 acp it has 200 grain Sig V Crown. My favorite SD 45 round.

It's nothing to talk about. Buy and carry Federal 230-gr. HST LE.

I only shoot 185g in 45acp. 185 xtp for personal protection and 185 zero jhp for target shooting. I have tested P320 45acp loads extensively . Both will shoot bug holes at 25 yards in the ransom. A 185g XTP is accurate and deadly .
