Looking to get another pistol chambered in .45 and can't think of a reason NOT to make it a Sig P220. Many say it's the best .45 out there. Not looking for another 1911 at this time. What say you fine folks?

I just added a second P220 myself... after 28 years, so go for it!

A 1990 "KA" , and a 2010 SSS

The P220 is a fantastic pistol.
To me it is the standard by which all other non-1911 .45ACPs are measured.

I agree with GBIA. For 45acp, it doesn’t get any better than a P220, unless you’re talking about a semi-custom, or full-custom, 1911, which cost A LOT more. Depending on what you like, polymer, striker vs DA/SA, manual thumb safety, etc, some other factory pistols compare (HK45 & USP45 come to mind,) but nothing is better, right out of the box. I could never tell someone that buying a P220 was a bad idea. In fact, you oughta get 2 ;-)

I can't remember being without a P220. It's my all time favorite SIG. I have some 9mm guns I like but the P220 would be the last to go. I no longer collect guns - just keep the ones I like. This have been my favorite for several years and it has survived the come and go of compacts, Legions and others.
