Does anyone have one of these? Our Finnish friends have been at our house for the past 10 days, including some shooting, and he told me I need one.

I don't have a Suomi, but your Finnish friends might like my Finnish-captured Soviet-made Tula 1939 SVT-38. This rifle was captured and used by the Finns, likely during the Winter War of 1939-1940, and then eventually imported into the United States decades later. The Finns captured ~4000 SVT-38s from the Soviets during that time and most were destroyed during WW2 and/or used to refurbish other rifles. The SVT-38 rifle is pretty rare and is a prized piece of any collection.

There were some parts kits imported several years ago, but I believe, after the '80s era ban on creating any more transferable automatic weapons. So any functional Soumi SMGs that are transferable, will be quite pricey!

There was an article in Shotgun News many years back, where their resident gunsmith did a project, creating a legal semi auto carbine, out of one of the kits.
