Springfield is finally getting competitive again - this time with Staccato

They have a new line of double stack M1911a1 style 9mm handguns coming. They have alloy frames, but with replaceable polymer grips.

They are called the Springfield Prodigy 1911DS

Keep your eyes open for the marketing. I handled a couple today that showed up in the local shop I help with periodically. They were fitted quite nicely, and had great triggers.

Yeah I wonder if all models will have a rail. Myself if I'm going to use it on the range I kind of prefer no rail. Harder to find holsters for them too. Or at least my Colt Railgun was at least hard to find them for. It had a beefier rail tho. If this is meant for carry, I'm sure some 1911 buffs will say the edges are a bit sharp. It don't bug me tho myself and I kind of like the look of them. For a while I was wanting a 2011 tho, but then I got a P226 Legion SAO and for now it's kind of is a version of a 2011 to me sorta. I do love a 1911 trigger tho!
