While I love my new XLSC boy this thing get dirty. Any tricks for getting the fouling off end of barrel?

I've had good success using the small brush of the toothbrush looking tool that came with my older M-16 cleaning kits
I just cleaned the end of the barrel on my recently acquired XLSC. What a PITA! I gently scraped the end with a razor after using CLP and alcohol. @Jimmybones, what ammo did you use?

Mil-Comm MC50 Bore Cleaner. Soak the end of barrel for 1 minute and all stubborn fouling just wipes off. My spectre comp left a ton of really stubborn fouling on the barrel I couldn't get off completely until I tried this. Like magic.

Sorry it took so long. I shoot what ever is cheapest so I can train .

Have you tried it on the comp ports? Is it safe on the finish?
Just ordered some. Will report experience when I get a chance to use it thanks
This worked great for my spectre comp

Great thread. I was wondering if this will be the same problem with the X Macro too since they are basically the same. I have seen some serious fouling on the last small portion of the barrel in the videos of the new X Macro and was wondering how hard it would be to remove. I am so on the fence about getting a macro but I am still hesitant. Not trying to Hi jack this thread since the comp on it will still be a PITA to clean like the spectre series is I assume.
I have several suppressors that are a carbon nightmare. I just use good old Hoppe’s 9. I have 3 mason jars full of it and just drop them in and leave soaking overnight…then a soft bristle brush usually takes it off without much fuss. If I have neglected it to long it might require an extra soak. I have been thinking of purchasing a small blasting booth and running some soda or plastic media blast. I snuck one into my work once and took it over to our cleaning shop. He had a commercial plastic media blast machine that had them looking like new in seconds!

I would expect the macro to be the same since they are the same or similar top end. I have hoppe's but can't leave to soak do to kids. Got some slip 2000 carbon remover today and ordered some mil com mc50 on suggestion from member. Mil com should be here by this weekend. So hopefully can make it to the range. Will definitely have a report when I see what works.
I might have to give the MC50 a try myself. My shop might smell better...lol.

Made it to the range today so Here's my report. For some context Shot 100 rounds of 115gr pmc bronze fmj through the spectre comp. Today I tried the mil com mc50 for end of barrel carbon. Let soak for 1 minute and nothing. Let soak for 5 more minutes and started to scrub. I did think it works slightly better then Hoppe's as the thin carbon came right off. My SC gets 2 spots of extreme carbon build up on end of barrel at 10 and 2 o'clock . 25 to 30 minutes of wire brushing later it was clean. Ok results but not the miracle I was hoping for. Next week I will try the Slip 2000 carbon killer and report.

Well here is another follow up. Shot 100+ rounds at range today. Tried the slip 2000 carbon killer. This stuff worked the best so far. Soaked barrel for about 10 minutes. Instructions say 5 -15. Most of the carbon wiped off. Still had to wire brush end of barrel but was done in only 5 minutes. This stuff works. I'm going to give the mill com mc50 another try with equal soak time for a fair shake.

I had a S&W Shield+ Performance Center with ported barrel. It's now gone. Any perceived benefits of the ported barrel weren't worth the hassle of cleaning carbon from the end of the barrel and inside the slide. I did find that if I put a light coat of Weapon Shield oil on the problem areas the carbon was easier to clean off. I do this with the bolt tail of AR-15 bolt assemblies and it works well.
Slip 2000 carbon killer works just fine for me. I clean the firearm right after firing at the range.
