Silencers and the handgun

1222 Views 27 Replies 8 Participants Last post by  DwnHomeCntryBoy
Hows everyone doing? I was curious about buying a silencer for my sig 365x, Don't know if they have them available yet I looked for a threaded barrel for the 365 and came up empty! I'm not sure if a silencer could even be possible because the 365 is so small? Any information on this topic I would greatly appreciate and some knowledge about the silencer and the sig p365x... thanks everyone. Connecticut

I try not to post when I do not have something to add based on first hand experience, but I will make an exception this time as nobody else has reponded.

There are barrels available for the 365 and 365xl length guns from aftermarket makers. A quick check at Midwest Gun Works came back with several in various special colors to match you socks and tie. I am sure they are available in other places as well.

I will say that I put a threaded barrel on a G43 to try it with my Osprey and Hybrid 46. That particular gun required a special piston from Silencerco to work with those two cans. It DID in fact function just fine, but the gun is so much smaller than the cans it really was a waste of time and money. Even on the Osprey which is designed to allow the standard sights on many full size guns to still be useable...they were not on the G43. I am sure it would be the same on my 365s if I had the barrel. That and the fact that the cans are so much bigger than the gun it makes them difficult to shoot.

When you get some of the very small dedicated 9mm cans to alleviate some of the size issues, the suppression level suffers.

My own opinion.... get a bigger host to suppress.

I put a Griffin Armament threaded barrel on my 365. Drops right in with no problems…just as accurate if not more the stock barrel. Also shot well with no issues with my AAC to-rant 9M

Thank you for your opinion it seams like that would be the case with the smaller guns. Thanks again and appreciate your thought

Sweet, I love my Rolex's! I think they are the best out there. What year is your watch? Is that a older Pepsi or coke? Either way beautiful watch. I collect watches and guns to off the best things you could collect in my opinion!
Maybe I could match that picture with my sig and a suppressor one day?? You'll be the first picture I will send out. OK
It a 2001 Pepsi 16710…,I also have a coke and black inserts that I change up when the mood strikes me!😂… I’m a bit of a watch freak!!!👍

I didn’t think any of the New England states allowed suppressors. 🤔
Is CT an exception up there?

Avoid Faxon. I have 200 rounds through mine and it's all mangled.

Yes they do here in Connecticut you have to get a bs tax stamp for 200 and then wait 6-9 months to get yr stamp and than you could get a suppressor. a bunch of red tape

I for one would be interested in what you mean by "mangled". Thanks
I don't have pictures as it's boxed up as I'm in the process of moving, but the amount of marring around the front of the chamber from it interfacing with the inside of the slide is unacceptable. It's sad too because faxon is made in my home state and I've always heard good things but this is BAD.

Silencer central is where I have to go get a tax stamp to buy a threaded barrel! What the heck is going on, I never knew you needed a tax stamp for a barrel. All the places I went online to see how much their threaded barrels were never said I needed a tax stamp to buy a threaded barrel! That's b/s I knew you needed a tax stamp to purchase a silencer but never a threaded barrel. WHAT'S UP WITH THAT!!

It’s been a while since I’ve looked at a map indicating legality, last time I glanced I thought it showed the left coast states, the New England states and of course Illinois where I live🤬.
It’s the only tax that Illinois doesn’t want us to pay.
