I received the goodies e-mail too. And I am also waiting for a custom shop deal. I just got a P226 MK25 and want to get SRT and AEP done
You can do the SRT install pretty easily on your own and there are lots of YouTube vids to show exactly how it's done. Takes maybe 20 minutes even if you have no idea what you're doing. I bet someone who's familiar with the process could do it in 5 minutes.
I installed the SRT kit on my MK25 (along with a Grayguns P-P-STR8 trigger) just a few weeks ago and it makes a *huge* difference. Was fun learning more about the innards of the P226, too. (First time I had ever taken one apart that far.)
I've not had the AEP done to mine, but I'm not sure the $180 fee would be worth it at this point. (Plus, I've
heard stories of factories replacing aftermarket parts with OEM bits when doing this sort of work... which seems sketchy.) The SRT and the P-P-STR8 trigger are pretty freakin' sweet. I suppose the AEP would help with the DA pull, but I can't imagine it would do much to improve upon the SA pull now. And I don't mind a longer DA pull since I'm using my MK25 as a HD weapon. I picked up the SRT kit from OpticsPlanet for $36 and the steel P-P-STR8 trigger for $62.50. Installed myself. The best $100 I've ever spent on a pistol. And it was a great learning experience.
Cheers,
