Anybody have a slide refinished, particularly re-blued and have pics. I'm trying to see how they look compared to an old West German. The old WG have kind of a chalky dark gray look to them to my eye.

SIG will redo the Nitron chemical treatment to their solid, milled stainless slides.
I don't think that they refinish the old stamped carbon steel slides. But I'm not sure.

They definitely re-blue them. I'm just wondering how close it is to the original finish.

The SIG stainless steel slides are not blued*, most have a "Nitron" finish, while Legions have a PVD finish (which isn't as durable). The earlier West German guns had a folded carbon steel slide that was blued. *Stainless steel does not accept bluing in the traditional sense.

SIG's refinishing of the Nitron slide should be pretty close to the original.

Yes, they do re-blue them.

This is a Swiss police P228 I used to own. Slide had a lot of marks and wear that these pics don't show well.

And, this is after SIG re-blued it.

Thanks 12131 that's what I'm looking for. Looks pretty close to the original finish.
