So it looks like we should all have an extra spring on hand as the earliest replacement part, especially for any pistol we have purchased used. (Two of my Sigs were purchased used, so I’m going to get a spring for my 45 P320 and MK25.)SIG Sauer’s recommended maintenance and parts replacement schedule

This is my rule too for anything I carry or is used in a SD role. On these SD guns I throw the 5000 miles springs in a dedicated plastic bag which I keep in my range bag. If simply a range fun gun I let it roll longer and carry the aforementioned baggy full of springs 5000 mile springs just in case a range gun spring hits the end of the road.5k

Sorry for the newb question - but it seemed that Sig sells recoil slide assemblies, and just the springs - but not necessarily just the springs for every model. Is this just something where I buy the right color-coded weight and cut to match the length? This is my rule too for anything I carry or is used in a SD role. You can always buy parts kits which include the spring or buy just the springs alone. Each Sig has a dedicated spring (color coded). They are often sold in 3 packs. Stock up. Sooner or later, you will need them, and if not, easily sold.Sorry for the newb question - but it seemed that Sig sells recoil slide assemblies, and just the springs - but not necessarily just the springs for every model. Sorry - old anal retentive habit - what’s the asterisk note?
Embarrassing additional newb question - ftl = For the Ladies? I’m hoping more like Failure to Load/Launch. FTLftl:
* I also recommend replacing the magazine spring when ammunition is not held securely. This can occur before slide lock failures.
