Sig Gave Me A Free MCX Match Trigger

1876 Views 13 Replies 10 Participants Last post by  RangeRat
I decided to call Sig today because I just sent back my MCX last week to them for the recall stuff. I asked them if they could install the new match-grade trigger for me and keep my $50 coupon and I will pay the difference. She said they have already fixed my MCX and it is shipping back today! That was only a couple day turnaround from when they received it. Plus, she said she will send me the match grade trigger for FREE since us MCX owners have gone through a lot lately. This is the reason I own Sig Sauer products. I don't know of any other company that would do that for their customer.

Not gonna lie I clicked this thread thinking you were offering a free trigger...
Congrats though

Yeah I figured some people may think that was the case

I just called and spoke to Aaron and he denied free triggers were being given out but offered to sell me one for the discounted price of $102 (free shipping).

I jumped on it because I would prefer a Sig part assuming it is an upgraded "match trigger". He said they "were a few weeks behind". We'll see.

I guess each rep can use their own discretion. She said she didn't know if they were in stock at the moment though, but will ship as soon as they are.

They gave me a free match trigger and shipped it to me a cpl months ago. Supposedly they are going to give me the $50 gift card as well when I send my bolt in. I havent installed it...havent sent my bolt in yet...havent shot my mcx yet. I just been letting it all sit while i let the dust settle and I decide what im going to do. I think im about to knock the dust of it all and get it sbr'ed and running. I think I want to test shoot 100 or so rounds 556 stock to see how it runs before and after bolt recall.
I checked with Sig customer service on Friday about availability of the Sig match triggers because my MCX is with them and I did not want it in hock waiting on a trigger back order. Customer service rep I communicated with indicated they have the match triggers available so it should not be a problem. Hopefully the availability of the match triggers does not depend on which rep you deal with or YMMV.

Yeah they replaced my sig MCX trigger with the Geisel and let me keep my previously installed aftermarket trigger. Pretty stand up.

I have 2 Sig MCXs. The carbine 16" and the "pistol", 10.5" barrel. My dilemma is finally both Sig AND Geissele have released match grade triggers for the firearms.

The Sig is 1/2 the price, but Geissele is the high water mark for triggers. If money is no object, which one would you guys go with? Has anyone here shot the MCX with both triggers to compare the two?

Lastly, Geissele has 3 options for the trigger pull itself, which one(s) is/are the best in your experience.

Thank you!

Get her name, ask for her every time you call, send her a Christmas Card, Valentines Day Card, Birthday Card...and if you're ever in New Hampshire take her to dinner. And if you get Aaron tell them you'll call back...

I agree. She must love her job.

I have tried both the Sig Match trigger and the new MCX SSA from Geissele in my 16" carbine. In my opinion, the new Geissele is a better option if you have the funds. I think the Sig match trigger would make a good pistol trigger. It is better than any of my stock pistol triggers but does not stack up against the likes of Wilson TTU, Geissele and Timney triggers I have in other rifles.
My nephew gave me his free new Sig trigger because it would not work in his MCX with the "G" bolt carrier. I installed it in my 516 Gen2 and I like it. Fired 80 rounds no problems.
