SBX15 Brace Assembly Question

401 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  Magic Prepper
Is the SBX15 brace from the legacy MCX's just a faux buffer tube screwed into the m1913 adapter? Or is it it's own standalone unit? Any love for these braces or are they too chunky? I may Form 1 my MCX at some point and wanted to know if it was an option to keep for a different stock set up. Or if it could take a SB Tactical brace instead. I picked up a PCB brace from another forum member and it literally weighs half of what the SBX15 weighed. But, the SBX15 does offer some nice cheek weld if that's your thing. Thoughts?
Thanks!

Brace will come off the tube. Tube will detach/unscrew from the folding adapter. I've removed at least one bit it was awhile back. If I remember correctly there's a set screw in the bottom of the adapter that needs to be backed out. Think the rest was just a good wrench and vise.

I'm a fan of the pcb with ghw adapter and compact tailhook.

The new low pro tube mounts are a little more slick than the 2nd gen knuckle and one really liked the BSL brace from magpul. Ymmv
