Romeo1 Mounting Screws

I am attempting to add a Romeo1 to my M-18, I have been through two sets of 6-48 mounting screws. I cannot get the screws to torque past 10 inch pounds before the screws spin in the hole. The owners manual calls for 30 inch pounds. It seems like the screws are not long enough. Is there a source for hardened 6-48 screws available?
Thanks in advance for any information.

Welcome to the forum. The screw holes on the M18 slide take M4x0.7 screws. Which optic do you have, the Romeo 1 (R1) or Romeo 1Pro (R1P)? With you mentioning 6-48 screws it may seem you have the original R1. If this is the case, that optic won’t work well with the M18 slide for two reasons: the R1 footprint is smaller than the R1P; and the M4x0.7 screws needed will not fit thru the original R1 holes. Hope this provides some clarification and good luck with your build.

Update: 6/27
After talking to Sig customer service, the M-18 ( 320C) pistol takes an M4 screw to mount a red dot. The Romeo1 Pro is a direct fit for the M-18, I have Romeo1, which has 6-48 mounting screws and requires a mounting plate to fit the M-18 pistol. Sig is however sending replacement 6-48 screws free of charge to use with the Romeo1 should I want to use on another platform. Great customer service.
