The bridge mounts works OK I've seen many guys using them at my range with various pistols. What are my options for putting a Romeo sight on my Legion p226 9mm? Can I send it in for milling out the rear of the slide to accept a red dot optic? Will that allow me to put any manufacturer's optic there?
Do I need to order a new slide and is that available?
...is a good idea.
Just got one for my P226 Tacops from Mounting Solutions Plus - Scope Mounts, Rings, Ar-15 Accessories Plus More
Used sight pusher to remove rear sight (right to left) then tapped in the dovetail mount with a brass punch (left to right).
Be careful and use a brass punch/drift to center the base in the dovetail.
Mounting plate has two screws..be sure to put a little blue loctite on them.
Not sure if this will be an issue on your Romeo, but I ran out of "up" elevation adjustment on my Burris Fastfire III. Bought a delrin shim from UM Tactical to solve the problem.
Picture is the Tacops and my X5 with red dots.

I too am thinking about machining a 2nd slide for an optic and like the idea of purchasing a conversion kit. On the sigsauer site I see two X-change kits for the P226 in 9mm, one Elite and one BLK. I can't tell from the pics on the site what the differences are between them. I assume the BLK is black nitron? Is the Elite a polished stainless steel? Which one would look better on a Legion frame? Why not just get a conversion kit and mill it?
You can then swap back and forth.
Burris FastFire*Mounts
This gets you to the main pages for this mount and it shows the one for Glock.
Select Sig over on the right side and you'll see it.
Part number is 126-BUR-410327, $34.95. And...of course...now they show backordered....
You may also want to consider the $9.99 Delrin shim from UM Tactical. It let me get the dot on target when I ran out of elevation adjustment.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I think the Elite kit has the front slide serrations and the BLK does not.I too am thinking about machining a 2nd slide for an optic and like the idea of purchasing a conversion kit. Thanks.
Yes. I called my customer service rep and ordered an Elite conversion kit this morning. Ryan explained as you said, that the Elite has the front serations, and also "Elite" engraving on the side of the slide. He said both the Elite and the BLK have the same nitron finish. As a Legion member he offered me a 20% discount which I am grateful for.Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I think the Elite kit has the front slide serrations and the BLK does not.
