Any one have one or use one? Positive or negative? Is it just another mini dot sight?

I like mine. Comes with a 2MOA Dot, MOTAC, AAA, NVG compatibility, 50,000 hr run time; It may be the best value you can find if it's actually a tough little RDS and lasts. I placed it on my HD gun because it does what I need it to for now. I took the lens caps off.

I've read a few comments regarding some excessive red glare but it only seems noticeable when you turn the brightness settings all the way up to the highest intensity brightness selections and your off the center of the optic looking at the optic at an angle.
I use the optical glare to help me re-center on the gun almost like fish eye parallax on a scope. (*Disclaimer, the Romeo7S does not have parallax) When looking through the optic with a proper sight alignment the red glare on high settings is not visible. The glare effect seems to be a product of where the light diode is located inside the tube and the angle of Objective glass in order for it to reflect. I feel the negative comments are over exaggerated. The Romeo7S is a great damn optic for the price IMO.

Well I bought the green dot version for my legacy MCX. Once I get it I’ll update the thread.

I have a Romeo 7 on an AKM, it works good for me. Quite a bit larger/heavier than many RDS (Romeo5 for example) but uses a regular AA battery and is more heavy duty construction.

That’s where I ordered from, but the green dot version. For cheaper than a Romeo5, I couldn’t resist.

That is the Romeo7S which is different than the original Romeo7. For example the battery used is different (AAA versus AA.)

$99 is an attractive price!

Quick initial impression since I’m in the middle of a move and won’t be able to mount it for several weeks. Construction seems on par with any Holosun or lower Sig optic. All controls seem solid with tactile clicks. Rotary knob is almost too stiff but fine as is. Still easy enough to manipulate. Green dot only has bloom at highest setting.

Cons, says in box and sticker “Made in China”. At least they are honest. The emitter is easily noticeable in the lower right of tube. Finally, when using both protective, clear caps in the down position, the distortion turns the dot in to a dashed diagonal line. With none or just one cap it’s still a dot.

Solid buy at $99

I grabbed my new Romeo 7s from PSA as it sounds like many have. I have really loved my Romeo 7 and like the form factor if the 7s. I can’t say much about it yet as I seem to have a defective unit.
Install new battery and set brightness setting (above NV) so the dot is visible. Battery appears to be dead or the motion activated system is funky. I remove and reinstall the same battery and it’s non-functioning. Install brand new battery and it functions for 15 minutes than it’s dead. Same result using several different battery brands and all brand new from package. Anyone else experience this or heard of any issues like this?
Romeo 7s has a 22 mm objective, whereas the Romeo 5 and 5x have 20 mm, not sure how noticeable that is for most.

I do notice the difference between the Romeo 5 (20 mm) and Trijicon MRO which has a 25 mm objective. Not a deal killer. esp. for the approx. 99 when the 5 is on sale.

Personally, I like the more compact size/weight of the Romeo 5. I have not tried the Romeo 7s.
I want to say the original ROMEO7 is a 30mm 1X RDS . Will need to dig up the original specs for the ROMEO7 I have been using the last few years.
