Romeo 5x Versus Romeo 7

Both of these are on sale at Palmetto State for $129 and $99 respectively. I have seen and held the 5x in person but have never laid hands on the 7. Any opinion as to which you would choose? Would go on a 5.56 carbine

I would go with the Romeo 5 because the Romeo 7 is a bit big (full-size) and much heavier. I own both. You can have multiple reticles on Romeo 5 XDR too whereas the Romeo 7 is only a red dot. If you plan to add a magnifier that makes the Romeo 7 even longer. Now they do make a Romeo 7S which is smaller I believe. I don’t own one of those. Hope this helps.

Thank you for that, it does help, I’m really not trying to add a whole lot of weight for an optic so that may win by itself.

I have both the Romeo 5 XRD and Romeo 7S green dot. I like them both. But I like the Trijicon MRO better. The Romeos are the better buy, the MRO is battle tested and worth the added cost under some circumstances.

Never had the Romeo5XDR but I do have a Romeo4T and a Romeo7S. The Romeo7S is one amazing red dot optic for the money IMO. The slightly larger 22mm tube, AAA battery, MOTAC, 50,000hr run time, 2 NV settings, 2MOA red or green dot reticles, what's not to like? The only thing I would *** is the circle dot reticle. The Romeo4T is even better but costs 4x more.
