Removing some of the Ambi controls from MCX Virtus

Recently bought the Virtus and wondering if there's a way to get rid of some of the ambidextrous stuff, like the selector switch and make if for a RH shooter?

A standard AR safety will usually work in the MCX. Just be careful with the function testing after the swap. While you lube the new safety be sure to lube the trigger pins so the trigger can't move from wear left to right under the safety cylender when it shouldn't.

The grip holds two springs with detents, so be careful not to let them get lost. Alternatively, just drive the roll pin out of the right side safety and the right side falls free leaving a small shaft.

The right side is a bit too big because it needs to support lefties. Geissele makes an ambi safety with a smaller lever held in place with a screw.

Like McGoo said, most AR safeties work BUT you do have to check. I've done three and the Colt, Magpul and Badger all work. I run Badgers in mine.
What's the reasoning to remove these - I imagine the weight savings is minimal?
