$370 isn't a bad price.

For comparison, I looked at two P229 .40 DAKs with night sights today that were in "Very Good Condition" for $425 with original box and 3 used & abused mags. One wasn't bad and only had a few minor scratches & dings and some holster wear. The other one was the same, but also looked liked it had been dropped on the asphalt and kicked down the road a ways.

I picked up my police trade-in P229 40 S&W DAK a few years back for $400 and it's been worth every penny. It's a great gun that rides with me every day.

Where did You find them?
I never see anything like that around here in Houston Gun Shops.
Yeah these deals are usually from online sellers. I have an RSS feed from sites like https://gun.deals/ which is where I saw this one. Usually local gun shops have higher prices in my experience, even after you factor in shipping and FFL transfer fees.

As bblr says, "If you want a DAK".

Frankly, some do, most don't, and the prices of DAK vs DA/SA reflect that with a premium of about $100 more for DA/SA. Though sometimes there are smoking good deals on the DA/SA too, in the low $400's.

But as bblr strongly hints, do not buy a DAK unless you are sure you don't want a DA/SA. DA/SA is almost the whole reason that P229's became such a strong seller for SIG. DAK, I suspect, was put upon them for reasons similar to the "New York Trigger", which is one more thing to avoid unless you talk funny and are so unfortunate as to live in a certain big city. :)

DAK + .40 = low demand.

Low demand = low prices.

Good opportunity for those interested; nothing inherently wrong with either of those two features (I actually like the DAK system).

Thanks, the only ones I've seen were at the G S in Houston that comes down from North Texas.
