Do you use a 1.5" or 1.75" belt? If you use a 1.75", have you noticed a difference?

I had a 1.5” 5.11 belt and thought it was goofy for casual wear

why chose. buy both. I use both, 1.5 for edc & use 1.75 for heavy carry/hiking and range work. both widths fit in my Lavies

Like I mentioned I go with a 1.5” Hank’s Gunner series in black, made long enough to accommodate just an IWB or both an IWB AND a magazine holder IWB. It’s indestructible and holds every combo I have. No need to find 1.75 belt loops here.

For me, 1.5" for jeans, and 1.25" for dress pants (suit pants). See my signature.

My CC pistols are either 25 oz empty (Kahr K9) or ~34 oz empty (357SIG X-Changed M11-A1). Increase the weight by ~4 oz or ~8 oz, respectively, for ammo. Increase a second time for weight of ammo in spare magazine. So, my belts, whatever size, need to be "substantial."

It always comes down to personal preference, and belt-loop size on the pants. The last 20+ years I've been wearing Cargo style pants & shorts for the comfort & the increased utility. Belt width, i've worn both. I prefer 1.75" belts because for me It fits my holsters better for more control of holster movement when drawing & re holstering my pistol(s). I only OWB my pistols R/H, except for my cross draw holster or shoulder rig(s) when driving on a trip longer than an hour. JMO and has worked very well for me after quite a few years.

1.5 inch fits my belt loops and is plenty for my P365.
150 for me.
1.5” because they fit most pants. Always a quality reinforced stiff leather or scuba type nylon that can easily support pistol and ammo.

Like most posters, 1.5 inch is my belt type because only some jeans will fit the 1.75. None of my jean shorts come in 1.75 and, in Florida, it is T-shirt and shorts weather most of the year. I have a Wilderness 5 stitch 1.25 belt and find it works just as well for EDC as my 1.5.
