P365XL grips: Wilson vs. OEM grip module w/Hogue HandALL

My search results seemed mixed, so I'll try a new thread.

I'm interested to hear from people who have tried both the WC and the Hogue.

I have what I'd consider medium sized hands and fingers. Of course, everyone's hands are different.
For me, the reach to the trigger on the stock OEM module is fine, I like it. However, the grip feels a bit too thin. I'm trying a Hogue, and it definitely fills the palm, but perhaps more than I'd like. I also don't care much for the beavertail extension.

If you've tried BOTH of these, please post your impressions, and how they worked out for you.

Thanks.

The WC grip module offers more between the frontstrap and backstrap, but slightly less than the hogue grip sleeve side to side.

You can sand the beaver tail off if you want. Personally, with as hot as it gets at my nearest indoor range rubber and I weren't getting along.

With the Wilson Combat grip generally coming with a return policy as long as you don't install and fire it the most you might be out is shipping, so if you really want to know if you like it or not, that's really the only way to know for sure. That or find a friend who owns one.

They're both going to feel a little fatter. The WC grip angle will be more 1911ish, and again ever so slightly thinner than the hogue while offering just a bit more backstrap which personally, for me I needed if I wanted to get my support hand on the gun.

Personally for me the Wilson Grip was a no brainer. This is what I was working with initially. The Hogue sleeve when I wasn't clammy felt decent, but for me, the wilson combat grip is where it's at.

Even with the size increase offered by the WC grip, to me it's still a tiny gun that takes more effort to get a solid grip than something with more grip surface.

I have the Wilson Combat grip module on my Sig P365X and for me it's fantastic and worth every penny! I don't have the Hogue Handall grip sleeve myself, but my buddy has it on his P365 that I have shot a lot and while it's decent for what it is, it doesn't compare to the Wilson Combat grip module. My friend with the Hogue that recently shot mine with the Wilson Combat has actually placed on order for one, so for me that tells me what he thinks of it. The swop is very simple and you can always keep your Hogue equipped grip and the Wilson Combat and if you don't like it you can always easily sell it.

For me, on a standard P365 (not XL) with size large hands (9.5 gloves?) - Hogue sleeve felt much better than stock grip alone, and I would have been content with it. The Wilson Combat frame feels a bit better than Hogue and fills out the grip without adding thickness where it isn't needed, like the Hogue.

I should probably try a WC XL frame, but the 12-round magazines given enough grip for my pinky and option to use shorter 10-round mags if desired.
As others have stated, the WC grip has more of a 1911 feel to it. I like the feel better than the OE XL grip with Talon overlay I had been using. The Hogue would add more thickness - sort of the polar opposite of the thinner WC grip.

Sucks not being able to try them out before buying. If you can get your hands on a small OE XL grip, it will approximate the WC.

You can always sell it here if you decide you don't care for it, you'll take a small hit but it won't be a total loss & end up being junk drawer fodder !!

There are several threads on removing the beavertail if you search.
Agree that it is mostly about how the various grips feel and the only way to know for sure is to try them.

I use a Hogue Handall on a factory XL grip for OWB or IWB carry with a jacket/untucked shirt.
And a Wilson standard grip with weights for deep/max IWB concealment.

I settled on these after trying the factory XL, Icarus Precision XL, Wilson XL, Boresight Razorback standard, factory standard with and without Handall.

I seem to prefer a thicker/wider (side to side) grip over a longer/deeper (front to back).
Too, the Wilson standard grip is the only one (so far) that allows mags to drop free without changing my grip.

Having tried the OEM module with a Hogue sleeve on my XL first, and then getting a WC module, the former was an improvement, but the latter is a big improvement. Of course, ergonomics are somewhat subjective, but it seems like a lot of people agree on this.

As an aside, if you try a Hogue sleeve on your OEM grip, don't expect to be able to remove it again easily. You may have to resort to cutting it off.

I have WC grips on both the standard and XL versions. Also weights in the grip. Really makes a comfortable and for me, more accurate. Reduce recoil.
