P365 Takedown level stuck in 6 clock position

1207 Views 9 Replies 9 Participants Last post by  Ron IL
I did a field strip of my P365XL.

Can not get the slide back on.

Takedown level is stucked in 6 clock position and the sear is high preventing
the slide to go on.

Anyone that have a solution?

Try pressing down on the slide lock mechanism and see if that lets you move the take down lever.

Try holding the takedown lever at the 7 o'clock position when you put the slide on.

Your takedown safety lever is out of position. It should be holding the sear down.

Your takedown lever bar is probably out of sync and is in the wrong position at the rear near the sear. Go online and you can find a YouTube video to help you reset it. I had the same problem.

Found myself in this position last week. I have 7 320s and finally picked up an xl. It yes different manual of arms than the 320 so I was flustered. You tube is your friend. I'm my case flipping the slide catch did the trick.

Yep this was the problem. The takedown safety level hooks around a little pin in the rear end of the FCU. This little pin is what move the sear up/down. Somehow the takedown level must have lost its grip to the little pin. The fix is to move the takedown level out a little bit so the little pin can go forward when pressing down the sear. Then move the takedown level back in position. Make sure that the takedown catch the little pin.

When I take the FCU out of my 365 I hold it in a way to keep the bars on both sides in place.
