P365 Optic Cut for Holosun?

2609 Views 21 Replies 14 Participants Last post by  P320 Fan
Hello, all. I think that I'm done ignoring the incontrovertible fact that my P365 is the best concealed carry shooter that I own. So now I need to spec it out the way I really want it.

First up is adding a red dot optic. I'm not overwhelmed by what I read about the RomeoZero, so I'm determined to go with the Holosun, an optic I already have on my carbine. So my question is: what do I need to set up my pistol this way? Am I better off buying a pre-cut slide from Sig, or should I find a reliable machining firm that will cut my existing slide? And, if I go with the former, where do I find a plate that will accept the Holosun?

Thanks, all......

If you get it cut, get it to fit the Holosun 407/507 or new Cary line.

Get a new slide, 356x and its optics ready. The newer slides have the cut n form of the rear sight.
I recently got the 365X slide and Romeo Zero Elite from Sig. It has the suppressor height sights. I like having a rear sights. Mine is for off-duty so everything has to be factory otherwise I would probably have picked the Holosun.
Buying pre-cut slide from Sig:

$299 MSRP for a P365x slide, no barrel or RSA. Slide will be factory cut for the standard RMSc footprint (Holosun K series, Romeo Zero, Romeo Zero Elite, Shield, etc.). Install will be a breeze. No plate required. Will come with Sig XRAY sights and a sight plate. Removing the sight plate and installing the optic leaves you with using the Holosun optic body rear "notch" as a BUIS,

Milling what you have:

You'll need to locate a milling company that is reliable, affordable and has accurate sight cuts and relatively quick turn around. I used Primary Machine for my G48 in 2021, and would do so again. I've heard Maple Leaf mentioned, but there are others. TBD Cost but budget $100-$120 (this may need updating for 2022). It is a one way trip for your slide; you will forever after have a custom "cut". The mill job may include an option to install a dovetail for your sights. Mill company may install your optic for you as part of the mill job if you send it with the slide. Your pistol will be out of service for 6-8 weeks.

A third option you may not have considered:

Trade your P365 in for a new P365X. You'll get all the running changes Sig put into the current production FCU. You'll have a gun you can walk out of the shop with and put the optic on. The P365 being a pretty decent seller means you will not lose too much on the trade, but it will depend on your local market.

I sent mine to Faricated Arms.
No plate is necessary. Criss has a fast turn around time and his work is fantastic.
I opted to keep my rear sight, so the Holosun 07K sits in front of it.
I also opted to get his "Sight plate", so in the case I decided to remove the Holosun, the plate would fill that milled area.

I think there are a bunch of others on this board who sent their uppers to Chris.

+1 P365 Optic Cut: Romeo Zero / Holosun 407k/507k / Shield RMSC – Fabricated Arms LLC
Just purchase the P365X and have two; or sell your original P365.

Look at the RomeoZero Elite. Their latest offering is very different.

What was the cost for that, I need a ZP slide milled. Thanks in advance
Thanks for the info on the fabricated arms! It may be just what I am looking to do.
Thanks for all the help, guys.

This is excellent news. If that Sig slide fits the Holosun without modification, then I think that is the way for me to go. No fuss, no muss.

It will fit!

I believe the milling was $100. I think the plate was another $20...
It's been a while since I sent it in, but to my way of thinking, I'd rather spend $100 getting it milled than to pay a couple hundred more for a P365X slide...

I also had mine Magnaported first, so I definitely didn't want to get a different upper.

Blessings,
DocS
I know somebody who might have exactly what you are looking for, lol.

I picked up this used older P365 ZP slide $150 and wanted it milled but ZP won't do It, no longer offer that service. Went to Faricated Arms site and they look legit.

Thanks again brother.
