At the end of my range session today, I shot a few ten shot groups, this was the best of them:

10 shots, 10 yards, Sig Sauer Elite Defense V-Crown 200gr ammo.

@WolfKing Thanks for the review of the X Ten. I Love the 10mm. The X Ten will be my next Sig to get. Sorry to hear about your Prostate Cancer. I found out last week that I also have Prostate Cancer. I am currently taking some pill's for it and tomorrow I am going in for a shot to fight the cancer. I also have an appointment at a local cancer center here in Las Vegas to see what they can do. I will send my prayer's to you to have a longer time here and enjoy your life and your hobby. Take Care and God Bless You.

Good luck in your treatment, I don't know how old you are, but if you are young (under 60) be as aggressive as you can in your treatment. It's the only advice I can offer.

Thanks, I am 63 and I will try any treatment I can to try and beat this. My daughter threatened me and told me to be around as long as I can for my grand-daughter or she will beat my A** and cut something off. So, what ever it take's, I will do to be here for her and my grand-daughter.

My biggest mistake in my treatment was not removing the prostate (primary tumor) before chemotherapy (after which you cannot). [Not to clog up a cool thread on the XTEN, but DM me if you ever want to know anything about someone who is nearing the end of their cancer journey.]

On a holster side note, I ordered a PHLster Floodlight OWB and have not been able to get the gun to fit despite monkeying around a lot with the tensioning.

On a fun note, I ran the Dickens drill last Friday with this firearm. 40-45 yards, 10 shots, 10 seconds on a man shaped silhouette. Scored a 9 from 40 yards. This gun is a real pleasure to shoot.

I put the first 120+ rounds through my new X-TEN today with nary a burp.

60 rds S&B 180gr FMJ
50 rds LAX 180gr FMJ
7 rds Buffalo Bore 21B Heavy 180gr JHP
8 rds Sig Elite V-Crown 180gr JHP
(these last two were alternated in one mag to try each at different positions in the mag)

A sore trigger finger was the only issue I had. Need to shoot it more to build up a callous, lol.

I finally got 2 boxes of 220gr BB hardcast to try when I make it back to the range. Sig's website has mags in stock again (or did a couple days ago).

I called sig the other day after the rear sight and optics cover plate flew off my M18 while shooting it. Took them 3 hours to get the parts off to fed ex and received them 2 days later I also mentioned that I couldn’t get 15 rounds into my x- ten mags and the rep said that it’s because of the incredibly strong springs that they use. He said to leave them loaded all the time and eventually they would take the 15’th round

I agree, but only if you can stuff them with 15 rounds, and better yet if you can leave the completely filled mag slammed fully into the firearm for even more spring compression for a few weeks.

Sitting at my range after running the x-ten for a while,, I gotta say that it’s the best 10mm I’ve ever owned
Sitting on the sidelines reading all the various threads my gut reaction is that the majority of the issues are with the heavier and/or more longer OAL, ie. 200/220 grain hardcast, and with those you may get lucky and you may not.

I have 3 different 10mm pistols (XTen, XDM Elite 3.8, and Sig TacOps 1911 10mm) and all shoot hard cast well. My main purpose for carrying the pistols are for backcountry trips in Colorado and Montana and reliable cycling of hard cast ammo is a must. I did have a Glock 29 and it struggled with hard cast, not to mention it was just painful to shoot due to trigger feedback. I no longer own it - and I don't sell many pistols...
