P320 M17 Question: Is it possible to buy a magazine follower only?

943 Views 13 Replies 9 Participants Last post by  Bahn
Hi everyone. I purchased a P320 M17 last month which unfortunately came with one defective mag. Specifically the magazine was assembled using the wrong follower which is too wide to clear the top of the magazine. Does anyone know if there’s any way to purchase just a spare follower so I can salvage the magazine?

The only place I could find that even lists it for sale was Ben Stoeger Pro Shop but it’s not in stock. Any help or point in the right direction is appreciated!

Normal mag on the left, defective on the right.

Maybe a call to Sig CS and they might replace the whole mag for you. Sig does not manufacture their mags.
Italy = MecGar
USA = Checkmate
Check the websites of the manufactures

Yep. Call Sig. They may even just send you a follower.

Ben Stoeger was the only place I found online that had them. I bought a few Act Mag 10 rounders for my fullsize. They wouldn't lock back consistently. Swapped some followers from other OEM 320 mags seemed to work. I was able to get a few from Ben to replace the Act Mag ones.

Just got a few new magazines as well and my FDE one looks strange too looks like some kind of carbon fiber maybe, it's never been loaded with rounds and looks scuffed up. Still new and haven't been to range yet I just had hand surgery last week.

Two made in Italy and USA the other, FDE is Italy.

One with red/orange follower Italy came from custom works with my P320 AXG Scorpion.

All three 17 round mag's

That is kind of strange too. I think yours should function fine based how the followers are fully seated at the top of the magazine. If you look at the magazine on the right side in my picture you can see how it stops about 3mm from the edge. I’m still able to load and fire rounds but it will not hold open on the last round.

maybe you can test it at home by inserting the empty mag and confirming it holds open. If it functions properly then you should be fine.
Took pain pill so maybe later.....lol

But I will try and post later if not in the a.m. but you could trying a complete disassemble of that magazine and clean it with CLP or something and reassemble see if that fixes it. :cool:
Usa or italy mags?
You might be able to deburr or flat sand them but i would call sig

Call Customer Service. Sig does not stock individual magazine parts as it is considered a expendable item. The only exception is baseplates. It should be replaced is defective.

Have you noticed the (alt) words that show up along with the pictures? It can be interesting to see what computers "see" when they read the coding for the pictures, mostly the words having little to do with waht in actually in the picture.

THIS TIME one of the (alt) descriptions on the middle pictures for those magazines was "peripheral input device." WELL HOORAY they got one right for a change!

So folks, remember if you want to talk gun stuff but don't want people nearby to know what you are talking about, you can tell your buddy that you just got some new peripheral input devices for your mid size life saving kit.

I’m curious, so please report back to us. The Sig mags are not exactly cheap.
I had a broken follower for my X5 and Sig CS sent me a FedEx label to send the whole magazine back afterwhich they sent me a new magazine. I was told they can't send a small piece to repair but be more than happy to replace the whole mag. No cost for the whole process.
Calling Sig is the best approach.
