Not familiar with the P239 pistol at all. Just bought one at a pawn shop and the serial number begins with SA8-****, first one I have seen that begins like that. I have seen the ones that start like 58a-****. Is there any difference such as where it was produced? Thanks for any info.

Does it not have the country on the right side of the frame? That should, but not always, tell the country where the frame was made. The gun would be assembled in the US, with American made slide.

Did it come with a case? Post some pics of the pistol and the stickers on the case (if you have one).

Here's what we have on file for P239 s/n's and build dates. Not a "SA8" listed.

Good pick.

An effective little gun, which I consider under appreciated.

I own two, and carry one every day. I would never sell one.

Taz. First off, welcome. You don't say what caliber your 239 is. (I have 2 of them. One is a SAS in 9MM and the other is in 357SIG and is my EDC) So that would be helpful in identifying what the weapon is.

Second, congratulations on your choice. This is (In My Opinion) the finest Single Stack weapon out there for Every Day Carry (EDC). It is smooth, reliable, and the one I have was sent back to me with a 10 Meter target that had 3 holes touching each other. Which is all *I* want from a EDC.

Congratulations! I've got a pair myself, both .40 S&W, one DA/SA, and one DAO. As mentioned photos would be helpful!

I purchased my P239 (9MM) around 2003 and the serial number begins with "SA".

The slide has "Exeter, NH" stamped on it. The frame is stamped with the serial number only, no indication of country.

By the way, I have put many thousands of rounds through this pistol and there is still absolutely no play (I mean zero!) between the slide and frame. It was my most accurate 9MM until just recently when I added a P210A Target to my collection.

Great pistol! I have no idea why SIG discontinued it since there still seems to be a lot of interest.

I have two, both SAS and .357. Great little pistols, accurate and dependable. Would not part with either of them. Both relatively recent models with serial numbers prefixed by 56A.

Great gun... my EDC in .40. Also have 9mm mags, spring, and barrel, and can easily swap them in to run 9mm.

Love my SAS P239 in 9mm, my EDC for several years. 56A 002544. Action by Gerry Ritacco made this a super little pistol.
