P238 Guide Rod - are there 2 versions? Symmetrical vs Non-Symmetrical

Below are the pictures of the two guide rods I can find for sale. I know my gun has the symmetrical one; though I have noticed it causing some wear on the frame.

Is the non-symmetrical one an upgraded version, an older version, or something else? I can't imagine the a-symetrical ones is for the 938 , as the 938 guide-rods I have seen have a much thicker end-cap/boss than a P238 guide-rod... and these ones pictured both have the the same thickness as my P238

"Symmetrical" (like mine) :
Tool Font Rectangle Metal Cylinder

A-Symmetrical / Non-Symmetrical (not like mine):
Tool Household hardware Cylinder Auto part Titanium

Will the non-symmetrical one reduce wear on my frame? If so I need to order it.

In all seriousness, what is going on here?

It's the same guide rod. Optical illusion. Try placing yours curve down and look at it from the same angle on something white while squinting and reciting, Sig, Sig, Sig..........

Nop.. never heard of that .."wear on the frame"
They both work the same .. hell .. It will be fine with a plastic one .. :)
I've never seen or heard of any type of asymmetrical guide rod for the P238. Pretty sure that picture is just messed up or at an odd angle. Care to share the original source link?

Source for the asymmetrical one was from Sig's website, on the listing for it on their online store:

Has anyone tried that type of rod? I really want to order it if its advantageous, in anyway, over the symmetrical one.

if its not, I really don't want to waste my money.

Out of curiosity I pulled my P238 out and pulled off the slide.
Just looking at the spacing it seems impossible for an
asymmetrical guide rod to work.
After removing the guide rod and seeing how it's machined to me it's obvious that the photo is an optical illusion.
There is no asymmetrical guide rod.
