P229 trigger question: SRT, vs CZ P-01, vs Wather PDP. Weight question.

I'm looking to get a P229 and have a couple of questions about the trigger. Other than having shorter travel distance, does the short reset trigger (SRT) really feel better than the regular one? How does it compare to the CZ P-01 trigger? And this may be a bit apples-to-oranges, but how does it compare to the Walther PDP trigger? I've read great things about the Walther but cannot buy it in CA.

And one question on the weight: is the weight listed on Sig official website with empty mag? 34oz seems a bit heavy. Thanks.

Welcome to the forum. Short reset is just that, it resets into single action. Single action pull weight is significantly lighter than DA. Most stock Sig DA/SA triggers will have a similar feel and pull weight but there are many exceptions. I carry a 229 elite in 357 Sig and the SA pull is right at 3.75 lbs. DA is 7.0. Only mod is a SIg Armorer super strut and 18 lb main spring. The CZ and Sig P22x series triggers are very different feel in my opinion. The Walther I’m not familiar with. Hope this helps.

Thank you. So the SRT just reduces the pull weight/distance, but doesnt change the feel? Can you eloaborate in what way are the CZ P01 trigger and P22x's different? I've also read that the trigger on SAO Legion is really nice, but that model is not available to purchase in CA. Also, is Sig listed weight usually with empty mag? Thanks.

BTW can't find which sub-forum P229/226 posts should be in.
