I bought a Sig Sauer P229 9mm in 2009 from California. I purchased a few 15 round magazines recently (I live in FL now) and it says Sig Sauer P229-1 on the side. I tried to use them today and they don't slide in. They seem to get hung up. I guess I have been using them in my M-11 and never used them in my P229. I took them in and was told they are newer magazines and don't fit in the older model P229's. I'm really disappointed. Do you have any advice?

The 229-1 magazine was designed to fit the wider magazine well of the newer 229 models, which are all based on the P229 .40 geometry. The 228 and older 229 in 9mm have a narrower mag well, so the 229-1 mag is too wide for the older 9mm 228 and 229 frames.

If your 229-1 magazine says "MADE IN ITALY" on it, I can take the mags you have and will trade you for new mags in what you need. I'm sending you a PM with my email so you can send a pic.

Welcome to Sig Talk, from the southwest corner of Indiana.

Sig Sauer Puss is correct in his evaluation, but I believe he overlooked the fact that you also have an M11A1, and not an M-11. So you can still use the P229-1 magazines in it. For your 2009 dated P229 9mm, what you need are the 13 round Sig marked magazines for 9mm P228/P229.

This is what you need: Sig P228, P229 13 RD 9mm phosphate OEM supplier Mec-Gar MAG22813 [OEM MEC-GAR MAG22813 13 RD 9mm] - $22.95 : Greg Cote, LLC

I did overlook that. I also sent him the same link you posted in a PM, so maybe the problem is solved.
