The dovetail actually has no taper, but most of Sigs sights have a bevel taper on the right side of the sight's dovetail, making it easier to start. Try to insure the sight can move freely, at least 1/2 way across the dovetail. If not, since most sights do not have a hollow dovetail, therer is no where for the upset metal to go. This can cause the sight to attempt to rise out of the dovetail, and with the front, snap the sight blade off...Thanks for the info. I was bass ackwards in my original message. I know the left side is a bit tighter that the right. i just had my directions backwards. The freezer idea makes sense. Thanks again.
