Odd markings on this P226. Left and right side look odd. Could it be legit?

Factory error that many sellers always hype up to hopefully get more out of the gun. Means very little, as far as I'm concerned.

As an aside, that gun is no doubt K-Koted.

I've been to Tyson's Corner, Virginia many times. I've never even heard of Lyson's Corner, Virginia, certainly not in West Germany.

I prefer the upsidedown airplane on the stamp.

Do You have one of those stamps ?
I'd probably pass on that one. Looks like it was thrown down a flight of stairs. Plenty
of W German guns out there in better condition.

Here's some SIG history, which I can never remember. From Wikipedia:

1985: SIG creates SIGARMS Inc
In January 1985, SIG established a subsidiary, SIGARMS, Inc, in Tyson's Corner, Virginia, to import the P220 and P230 models into the United States. Two years later the firm moved to a larger facility in Herndon, Virginia, and introduced models P225, P226 and P228.[15] SIGARMS moved to Exeter, New Hampshire, in 1990 where production facilities had been established and production began on the P229 in 1992.[15]
At this point there were four entities:

  • SIG, a company based in Switzerland.
    • The firearms division of SIG, based in Switzerland.
    • A subsidiary of SIG called SIG Sauer GmbH, a firearms company based in Germany.
    • A subsidiary of SIG called SIGARMS Inc, a firearms company based in the United States.
I somewhat feel sad about some of the larger firearms companies (SIG, Remington, Marlin, going under or needing to make major admin changes to stay solvent; classic firearms discontinued (FN's Hi-Power), with the related parts/service becoming constrained:(.

I had a buddy who had one. Put it on gunbroker. Did very well. Way more than I would’ve paid for it

Looks like somebody used it to shingle their roof.

I agree. That’s clearly not honest wear.
Looks like it was a truck gun, kept holstered.

Shamefully, I have to admit I don't have one of those upsidedown Jenny's either. Too bad...I could sell it and buy some awesome very old Colt's.
