All good points made above. Heck, any version of P226 is a great pistol. I've owned Mk25D for years, and luv this GI gun. But, I also luv a great trigger on a big range shooter like this.
Mk25 is a rugged design, with pic rail, chrome lined barrel and phosphate coated frame parts - but her EOM trigger wasn't great. Initially, I installed SIG's Short Reset Trigger kit along with a lighter mainspring - and that was OK.
When SIG's Legions were introduced, I picked up the trigger system used in these pistols, GrayGuns P-PAK. Now, my Mk25 has a GREAT trigger too.
This was an expensive approach though as these GrayGun kits are hard to find and >$300. Yeah, this is why those Legions have that price premium.
My suggestion for you is to think about which you value more - A famous GI gun that's built like a tank .. Or, as great pistol with a really fine trigger...
Cheers
