WHAT DOES EVERYONE THINK OF THE ORIGINAL 320 IN 45 CAL. I'M THINKING OF BUYING A FULL VERSION 45 CAL.
I HAVE A 320 IN 40, AND A 9MM BARREL. I KNOW THE 40 FRAME IS TOO WEAK FOR THE 45 BARREL, BUT THE 45 FRAME IS STRONG ENOUGH.

IS THE RECOIL PRETTY STRONG IN THE 45 V 40?

ANY ADVICE IS WELCOME

"Any advice"... @hoekyb1...Etiquette generally discourages the use of all caps when posting messages online. While all caps can be used as an alternative to rich-text "bolding" for a single word or phrase, to express emphasis, repeated use of all caps can be considered "shouting" or irritating. ;)

230 grain fmj shoots fine in the 320 platform and across all barrel/slide lengths. Recoil is moderately light but it does get your attention as it should. 200 and 185 grain get a little snappy but controllable. In my opinion, the 320-.45acp recoils about the same as my 227 and GCNM. I didn’t think I’d like a 320 in 45 till I bought one. It’s now one of my favorites. It’s usually part of every range trip.

What do you mean when you say " I KNOW THE 40 FRAME IS TOO WEAK FOR THE 45 BARREL, BUT THE 45 FRAME IS STRONG ENOUGH."

The "frame" of a 320 is the FCU. The grip module is hardly stressed in comparison. There are dimensional differences between 45 modules and 9/40 modules but they are due to the 45 grip needing to accommodate a longer round. Nothing to do with strength.

There is only a minute difference between a 45 FCU and the 9/40 FCU with respect to the ejector and that difference has nothing to do with strength.

I love the p320 in 45. I started with a full size as I was concerned about recoil. Totally unnecessary - very comfortable to shoot. I've since converted it to the carry size.
It's great, just as easy to shoot as my 1911.
If you can handle a 9 and 40 in a P320, a 45 is a piece of cake.
