Hi All,
Just signed on today and introduced myself a bit ago. !st post - 1st ?
Took my recently acquired p 938 to the range for some break in and practice.
I'm a southpaw and after firing a couple 7+1 mags thru it it started dropping the mag with almost every round fired. Tried adjusting my grip and was very conscious to keep my trigger finger away from the mag button and used the tip of my trigger finger to fire.
Firing right handed is perfect. Thinking it is my bird finger being the culprit contacting the button during recoil although I can't feel it nor do I have any sign of contact with that finger such as redness or soreness.
Have any other lefties had this problem?
Called Sig and explained and we agreed I should try the flush mag & try to adjust my grip differently and see how it goes.
Might also mention my gun has the Hogue wrap around grip and I feel it may be forcing my middle finger higher on the grip and nearer to the mag button so I'm also going to go with a set of standard G10 grips as I don't care for the thickness of the Hogue wrap around grip anyway.
Sig agreed if all else fails send it back and they'd see what they could do. I'm wondering if a stronger mag release spring is available and might help.
I really like this pistol and if all else fails I just going to have to retrain my 72 year old bod to shoot right handed which may not be a bad thing anyhow.
I like this gun that much, not to mention I have a P238 Equinox at Sig for installation of a ambi safety. My bad - I should have tried the 938 before I bought the 238.
I will conquer this one way or another.
Any advice to offer?
Thanks,
DW (Sig Nut)
