Just Incase anyone is interested in another option for an optic for your P365, Vortex just released their new Defender series. Both in 3 and 6 MOA. $349 MSRP. All over the web at $249. Optics Planet has it for $249 with 13% off with RD13 coupon code and free shipping. Ending today, 3/17. So $216.63. Take a look. I ordered one just because I like Vortex.

Reading the owner's manual and some customer reviews discloses two troubling items. First, the auto-shutoff feature waits 14 hours before it shuts down. If this is mounted on your EDC that pretty much means it will be on 24/7. If you choose to use manual shutoff then you also have to give up motion-activation which is only available if the auto-shutoff feature is active. Second, battery life is estimated to be barely one year and could be much less due to the aforementioned 24/7 operation.

I find this interesting. I am guessing the lens is plastic because they don't mention what it is made of. That certainly is a consideration. The battery life is certainly much less than the Holosuns, but at 9500 hours, even if it carried every day (and it will stay on the whole day with the 14 hour cut off) it probably would last about a year (9500/24= 395.8 days). Some folks just change the battery every year anyway. That is another consideration. On balance, for me, at the sale price it seems a pretty good deal. I would consider getting one especially for a pistol that wasn't in the carry rotation just to try one out. I think I would like the 3 mil dot. Two is a bit too small (507K), 6 (407K) a bit too big.

It seems to me the most interesting option, right now, I like that you can choose between 2 sizes of moa and the front edge, it turns itself off and aluminum structure, too bad I recently bought the 407k, it has everything I need, it is a red dot also.

Plastic lens is an automatic no go and would be a huge mistake for Vortex.

The 14 hour shut down is a negative for me as well. My other concern is the lens material, whether it's glass or polymer. I'm normally a Vortex fan but the jury is still out on this one.
