New to Me 220 45 ACP

654 Views 6 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Willard
I just inherited a Sig 220 in 45 ACP .
The case is missing the label and no manual was found for it.
Decocker side of slide is marked Sigarms,Inc Exeter Nh
Ejection side is marked P22 Made in Germany.
Looks like a 1 piece grip panel.
I already own a first Gen 320 SC.
Not sure on the date of the switchover from Germany to USA made.
Is mine a transitional year ?

What's the serial number? Is it folded carbon steel slide or one-piece stainless milled slide? Does it have triple serials with German proof marks or no? Pics would tell everything.

As already mentioned, photos help so much!

Like this one here, one of my "rescues" that was Double Action Only originally, it's been converted to DA/SA, and E2 Strut system with E2 grips, originally from 1998/1999 assembly, here in the states from mostly German made parts.

Serial # 6280736
Could not find any proof marks.
Appears to be a milled slide.
Twisted wire recoil spring if that helps.
Looks like the one Willard posted.
Not able to do photos at the present time.

That's a "G", not a 6, so your serial # is G 280 736, which is a little older than mine. Should be a 1997 Date of Manufacture, can't be any closer than that. If it had the original 2 piece grips, we might be able to get a little closer, by the grips month and year of manufacture.
